Had a dream today

The scenes kept changing swiftly
In each scene I had a different role to play
Still, being a human in all the scenes proving tiresome
Freezing a scene I entered into it
Finding me there I changed myself into a rat.
On coming out and reaching my cabin
the dream – sequence changed.
The dream that uses animals for chasing
and causing fear
turned into a jungle.
The humans running ahead of the giant rat
couldn’t create any destiny whatsoever.
In the next scene rats multiplied
In the kitchenette and bedroom of the rats
Some humans were hiding.
Finding their food getting lost
and the pages of books missing
the rats thought of making a human-trap.
I should change the next scene of the dream urgently.
Those who wish to become cat inside the dream
can forward their application.

இன்றொரு கனவு.
ஓடி ஓடிக் காட்சிகள் மாறிக் கொண்டிருந்தன.
காட்சிகள் ஒவ்வொன்றிலும் எனக்கு வேறுபட்ட பாத்திரங்கள்.
ஆனாலும் எல்லாக் காட்சிகளிலும் மனிதனாகவே இருப்பது சலிப்பைத் தந்ததால்
ஒரு காட்சியை நிறுத்தி விட்டு உள்ளே நுழைந்தேன்.
என்னைக் கண்டு பிடித்து ஒரு எலியாக மாற்றினேன்.
வெளியேறி அறையை அடைந்ததும் கனவின் காட்சி மாறியது.
துரத்துவதும் பயமுறுத்துவதாயுமே விலங்குகளை உபயோகிக்கும் கனவு
ஒரு காடாகியது.
ராட்சத எலிக்கு முன்னால் ஓடிக்கொண்டிருக்கும் மனிதர்களால்
எந்த விதியையும் உருவாக்க இயலவில்லை.
அடுத்த காட்சியில் எலிகள் பல்கிப்பெருகின.
எலிகளின் உணவறையிலும் படுக்கையறையிலும்
மனிதர்கள் சிலர் ஒளிந்திருந்தனர்.
உணவு காணாமல் போவதையும்,
புத்தகங்களின் பக்கங்கள் தொலைந்து போவதையும்
கண்டுபிடித்த எலிகள்
'மனிதப்பொறி' ஒன்றைச் செய்வது பற்றி ஆலோசித்தன.
அவசரமாகக் கனவின் அடுத்த காட்சியை மாற்ற வேண்டும்.
கனவுக்குள் பூனையாக விரும்புபவர்கள் விண்ணப்பிக்கலாம்.

Once there lived a girl in a place

In the tales she created
she had kept as secret the account of her fantasies
regarding her representation.

The dream was the storehouse of all these secrets.

But, when fantasies become dreams
as they swell themselves
She wanted to give each of them a Name.

For instance, as the fantasy of changing herself into a bird
When it becomes a dream expands as ‘Winged Angels’ and ‘Caged Parrots.
She named them Winged Angels and Caged parrots.

Thus, when there accumulated secret stories filling a night,
‘should compile them all’, thought she.
Learning this, a psychiatrist, expert in interpreting dreams suggested an approach.
As per that, the tale he wrote and the caption he gave were as follows:

“A woman and a Bird” _ Bird is a metaphor denoting love.
Women who want to love and be loved don’t like being confined.

He who translated this said: Loving is the all-time business of women”.

In the theory formed by those after a century
it was given as “Don’t allow them to love”

Others who came later argued, “Love is a myth.”

Some said, “The interpretation given to her dream is not correct.”

“How can one say what other thinks” – so also many voices rose.

One by one
everything was done just by the men
of that place.

In many places there were many women’ –
With these critical remarks the text came to a close.

ஒரு ஊரில் ஒரு பெண் இருந்தாள்.
அவள் உருவாக்கும் கதைகளில் தனது பிரதிநிதித்துவம் பற்றிய கற்பனைகள் பற்றிய விபரிப்பை எப்போதும் ரகசியமாகவே வைத்திருந்தாள்.
ரகசியங்கள் சேமிக்கப்படும் இடம் கனவாக இருந்தது.
ஆனால் கற்பனைகள் கனவாக மாறுகின்றபோது தன்னைத்தானே பெருக்கிக் கொள்வதால் ஒவ்வொன்றுக்கும் பெயர் சூட்ட நினைத்தாள்.
உதாரணமாக தன்னைப் பறவையாகக் கொள்ளும் கற்பனை கனவாகும்போது இறக்கைகள் முளைத்த தேவதையாகவும், கூண்டிலடைபட்ட கிளியாகவும் பெருக்கமடைவதால் 'பறக்கும் தேவதை' என்றும் 'கூண்டுப்பறவை' என்றும் பெயரிட்டுக் கொண்டாள்.
இப்படியாக ஒரு இரவை நிறைக்கும் அளவில் ரகசியக் கதைகள் சேர்ந்த பின் எப்படியாவது அதை எழுதி விட வேண்டும் என்பது அவள் எண்ணமாக இருந்தது.
இதை அறிந்த கனவைப் படிக்கும் நிபுணர் ஒரு அணுகுமுறையைக் கூறினார்.
அதன்படி அவர் எழுதிக்கொடுத்த கதையின் தலைப்பும், பொருளும் பின்வருமாறு இருந்தது.
'ஒரு பெண்ணும் பறவையும்' - பறவை என்பது காதல் குறியீடு, காதலிக்க விரும்பும் பெண்கள் அடைபட்டுக் கிடப்பதை விரும்புவதில்லை.
இதை மொழிபெயர்த்தவர் 'காதலிப்பதே பெண்களின் வேலை' என்றார்.
ஒரு நூற்றாண்டு கழிந்த பின்னர் தோன்றியவர்கள் உருவாக்கிய கொள்கையில் 'அவர்கள் கற்பனை செய்வதை அனுமதிக்காதீர்' என எழுதப்பட்டது.
பின்னர் தோன்றியவர்கள் 'இது பெரும் கட்டுக்கதை' என வாதிட்டனர்.
சிலர் 'அவளது கனவுக்கு வழங்கிய பொருள் பிழை' என்றனர்.
'ஒருவர் எண்ணுவதை இன்னொருவர் எப்படிக்கூறுவார்' என்றும் குரல்கள் எழுந்தன.
ஒவ்வொன்றாக
இவை அனைத்தையும் ஊரின் ஆண்களே செய்து முடித்தனர்.
பல ஊர்களில் பல பெண்கள் இருந்தனர் என்ற ஆய்வுக் குறிப்புக்களுடன் பிரதி நிறைவு பெற்றது.
