On meeting a mime artiste

suiting one and all
does he apply dough as white mask
befitting a circus clown.
Though he begins to cause laughter
he becomes the voice of the voiceless.
He reads news in the manner of the
Sunday special newsreader of
the Central government
He gets into a train that is not there
Bringing it to a halt
he pays the fine and climbs a mountain
Drinks a hot cup of tea.
Climbing on the back of a stallion
He reaches the base, falls in love,
kisses, holds the baby in his lap
and sings lullaby.
He turns old and his walk weakens .
Placing someone on his lap he wails.
After closing the other one's unblinking eyes
and sending him to his final sleep
as the corpse of the voiceless
blocking the entire stage
stretched out and inverted
there He lies still.

ஒரு மைம் கலைஞனை சந்திக்கும் போது
எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் பொருந்துமாறு
வெள்ளை முகமூடியை மாவினைக் கொண்டு பூசுகிறான் ஒரு சர்க்கஸ் கோமாளியாக
சிரிக்க வைத்தபடியே துவக்கினாலும்
அவன் குரலற்றவர்களின் குரலாகிறான்
நடுவணரசின் ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை
சிறப்பு செய்தியாளரைப் போன்று
சேதி சொல்லுகிறான்
அவன் இல்லாத இரயிலில் ஏறுகிறான்
அதனின் இயக்கத்தை நிறுத்தி அபராதம் கட்டுகிறான் ஒரு மலையிலேறுகிறான்
சூடான தேநீர் பருகுகிறான்
குதிரையிலேறி அடிவாரம்
வந்தடைகிறான் காதலிக்கிறான்
முத்தமிடுகிறான் குழந்தையை மடியில் வைத்து தாலாட்டுகிறான் அவனுக்கு வயதாகிறது நடை தளர்கிறது
யாரையோ மடியில் கிடத்தி அழுது புலம்புகிறான் நிலைகுத்திய கண்களை மூடிவிட்டு அவனும் உறங்கிய பின்பு
குரலற்றவர்களின் சடலமாக மேடையை அடைத்து கொண்டு நெடுஞ்சான் கிடையாக கிடக்கிறான் அசைவற்று.
