The stone also walks on
For fulfilling his sacred vow.
Around the tree Vows overflow
In hundred-thousands.
Upon those piled up one above
the other
He places his stone of sacred vow.
In many a rainy season
some stones
would roll down
and reach the basement
Someone would carry the same stone
and climb on the mountain
So it would be a stone
bearing at the same time two vows
and also
at times
having borne hundreds of vows.
அடிவாரத்திலிருந்து
மலைக்கு மேல் சிறுக் கல்லை சுமப்பவனை
பார்த்தேன்
கல்லும் நடக்கிறது
அவனுடைய
நேர்த்திக் கடனுக்காக
மரத்தைச் சுற்றி பல லட்சம் நேர்த்திக் கடன்கள்
ஒன்றின்மேல் ஒன்றாக அழுந்திக் கிடக்கும் அதன் மேல் வைக்கிறான்
நேர்ச்சைக் கல்லை
பல மழைக் காலங்களில்
சில கல்கள்
உருண்டு அடிவாரம் செல்லும்
யாரோ ஒருவர் அதேக் கல்லை மீண்டும் எடுத்து மேலே செல்வார்
இரண்டு நேர்த்திக்கடன்களை சுமந்து கொண்டும்
சில நேரங்களில்
பல நூறு நேர்ச்சைகளை சுமந்தக் கல்லாகவும் அது இருக்கும்.
