A POST-MODERN POEM FOR YOU

Fright has grown in that tiger

as a veritable tail

That the tigers are fearless is but myths shown by those picturing jungles.

The fear originating in its eyes stretching till its tail
breaking into multiple lines crisscrossing all over its torso
The human eyes seeing it straight would agree in dread.

Those who claim its retreating as some strategy before leaping know not the expression ‘tigerfear’.

Fear would prevail inside the tiger’s body as the blood-circulation.

The reason for these fear-free tigers
assembling in the ground and
under the shade of the lone tree
is for playing cricket and carom-board.

The authority of the tiger-hunters would apprehend the cubs.

The cubs that fly high a kite without the tail of fear
would be shooting a drone plane
with their sharp eyes and so be playing happily.

With visuals leaping as deer
Like the tail’s long swinging force
the cubs would chase.

The cub would hide its face inside the carrom board
Concealing itself in the tree, showing its striped body
rubbing its feet
it would refuse to show its countenance.

The merciless drone-plane
would still pursue relentlessly.

Fear has grown in the tiger as a veritable tail.

The planes can contain the fear of the tiger cub
inside the snapshot cage.
Never
do the tiger cubs get caught in the cage.

பயம் ஒரு வாலென
அந்தப் புலியிடம் வளர்ந்துகிடக்கிறது..
புலிகள் பயமற்றவை என்பதெல்லாம்
காடுகளை படம் பிடிப்போரால் காட்டப்படும்
தொன்மங்கள்..
கண்களில் உருக்கொள்ளும் பயம் அதன் வால் வரை
நீண்டு கிடக்க..
உடலெங்கும் அது ஒடிந்து கோடுகளாய்க் கிடப்பதை
நேரில் பார்க்கும் மனிதக் கண்கள் பயமுடன் ஒப்புக்கொள்ளும்..
பதுங்குவது கூட பாய்வதற்கு முன்னான தந்திரமெனச் சொல்பவர்கள் புலிப்பயம் என்ற பதமதை அறியாதோர்..
பயம் புலிக்களுக்கு குருதியோட்டமாய் உட்கிடக்கும்..
கொரோனா ஊரடங்கில் பயம் அறியா புலிகள்
மைதானங்களிலும் ஒற்றை மர நிழலிலும்
கூடுவதேனெனில்
மட்டைப் பந்திற்காகவும் கேரம் விளையாடவும்..
புலிவேட்டையாளர்களின்
அதிகாரம்
குழந்தைப் புலிகளைத் தேடிக் கண்டடையும்..
பயமெனும் வாலற்ற பட்டம் ஒன்றை வானில் ஏவிய
புலிக்குட்டிகள்
படப்பிடிப்புக் கருவி விமானம் ஒன்றை
கூரிய கண்களால் சுட்டு வீழ்த்தி விளையாடிக்கொண்டிருக்கும்..
நிழற்படங்களாய் முகங்கள் மானென ஓட
வாலின் நீண்ட கடுவிசையென
துரத்தும் குட்டிப் புலிகள்..
கேரப் பலகைக்குள் குழந்தை முகம் மறைக்கும்..
மரத்தில் மறைந்து கோடுடல் காட்டி
கால்கள் தேய்த்து
முகம் காட்ட மறுக்கும்..
கருணையற்ற அவ்விமானம்
அப்போதும் துரத்தும்..
பயம் ஒரு வாலென அந்தப் புலியிடம் வளர்ந்து கிடக்கிறது..
விமானங்களால்
குழவிப்புலியின் பயத்தை நிழற்படக் கூண்டில்
அடைக்க முடியலாம்..
ஒருபோதும்..
குட்டிப் புலிகள் கூண்டிற்குள் சிக்குவதில்லை..
