 RAPTUROUS LOVE

Suffice to hear the sound of bike

coming along the street

for ascertaining my arrival

My pet dog wagging its tail

would come to the gate without fail

As usual with its mischievous pranks

our lamb playfully bumps against me

every now and then

as the great grand river of love infinite.

A few days of absence notwithstanding

a crow remembers me all too well

and caws joyously

on seeing me.

Not only while eating but even when reposing

my darling cat loves so much

my nearness.

For offering a few morsels of food

circling me round and round

as the chain of love

_ the rooster and hens.

Adding beauty and luster to

all my twilight hours

Mynas and some sparrows.

It is the deliriously blissful love that

surges in all these

that changes this life filled with despair

into a hopeful affair.

தெருவில் வரும் உந்துருளி

சத்தம் கேட்டே

எனது வரவை உறுதி செய்கிறது

வாலாட்டியபடி படலைக்கு வரும்

வளர்ப்பு நாய்

எப்போதும் போலவே

தன் சுட்டித்தனத்தால்

என்னை முட்டி முட்டிப் போகிறது

அன்பின் பேராறாய்

வீட்டு ஆட்டுக்குட்டி

சில நாட்கள் இடைவெளியிருந்தும்

மறக்காமல் நினைவு வைத்திருக்கிறது

என்னைக் கண்டதும்

கரைந்து தீர்க்கின்ற காக்கை ஒன்று

உணவு உண்ணும் போது மட்டுமன்றி

ஓய்வெடுக்கும் போது கூட

எனதருகாமையை நேசிக்கின்ற

செல்லப் பூனை

சில பருக்கைகள் அளித்ததற்காய்

என்னையே சுற்றிச்சுற்றி வரும்

அன்பின் பிணைப்புக்களாய்

சேவலும் கோழிகளும்

அந்தி சாயும் மாலையெல்லாம்

எந்தன் பொழுதை அழகு சேர்க்கும்

மைனாக்களும் சில குருவிகளும்

இவை அத்தனையிலும் ஊற்றாகும்

அன்பின் உன்மத்தங்களே

ஏமாற்றம் சூழ் இவ்வாழ்வியலை

நம்பிக்கைக்குரியதாய் மாற்றிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறது!

THE BIRTH OF THE POOR BOY

As usual

all Dawns!

But this dusk alone

has wings all too vibrant!

On both sides of the street

People flooding!

The great grand city radiant

In hues magical!

The sky reverberating with

Fireworks of colours myriad!

The midnight square

would be enlivened to the core!

As motorized deluge

the wheeled wagons!

Multi-storeyed structures

sparkling all over!

The ultra-modern attires

Making a grand march!

The cathedral is glowing radiantly

brimming with parishioners.

Yes indeed, all these are for

the arrival of the Son of God!

All pray to the Son of God

with hands outstretched!

And, the Son of God pray to all

with hand outstretched

Some candles in the hands!

எல்லாப் புலர்வுகளும்!

இவ்வந்திக்கு மட்டும்

ஆரவாரச் சிறகிருக்கிறது!

தெருவின் இருமருங்கும்

மக்கள் பெருவெள்ளம்!

வர்ணஜாலம் கொண்ட

மின்னொளி மாநகரம்!

வானதிரும் பல வண்ண

வாணவேடிக்கைகள்!

புத்தெழுச்சி பூண்டிருக்கும்

நள்ளிரவின் நடுச்சந்தி!

இயந்திரப் பிரவாகமாக

ஊர்கின்ற சக்கர ஊர்திகள்!

கோலாகலத் தோற்றத்தில்

அடுக்குமாடிக் கட்டடங்கள்!

நவீன நாகரிக உடைகளின்

ஆடம்பர அணிவகுப்பு!

தேவாலயம் ஒளிர்கிறது

மண்டபம் நிறை பக்தர்கள்!

ஆம், இவை அத்தனையும்

தேவபாலன் பிறப்பிற்கானதே!

எல்லோரும் தேவபாலனிடம்

கையேந்தி இறஞ்சுகின்றார்கள்!

எல்லோரிடமும் ஓர் ஏழைப்பாலன்

கையேந்தி இறஞ்சுகின்றான்

சில மெழுகுவர்த்திகள் கைகளில்!

WILD LOVE

A leaf has come off a branch

of the flourishing season of greenery.

The days when the leaf was with the branch

are indeed sacred

Dewdrop of Morn

Sunshine

The yellow spray of the

evening sky

amorous cooing of birds

animals cries of pleas

all and more

wholesome to the core!

Fighting against the sun’s heat

Warming up with the rain

Having sweet disputes with the wind

are moments of glorious love

Those hours of nurturing kinship with

the shoots, fellow-leaves, unripe and ripe fruits

are utterly enthralling.

That which happens now..

It could be the ultimate expression of

the love it has for the soil;

For proving its love for another leaf

having no other way

it might have ended its life.

For feeding a hungry animal

It might have so sacrificed.

It might be the effect of a

bird’s flutter.

Or, there might’ve been some

foul play

a small disappointment

or a terrible betrayal

Whatever be the case

in parting

there would lie buried without fail

wild love - so vast, uncurtailed.

பசுமைக் காலத்து

மரக்கிளையை விட்டுப்

பிரிந்திருக்கிறது ஓர் இலை!

இலை கிளையோடிருந்த

நாட்கள் பவித்திரமானவை!

காலை பனித்துளியும்

பகலவன் கதிரொளியும்

மாலை வான் மகளின்

மஞ்சள் தெளிப்பும்

பறவைகள் கொஞ்சலும்

பிராணிகள் கெஞ்சலும்

பரிபூரணம் நிறைந்தவை!

வெயிலோடு மோதலும்

மழையோடு கூதலும்

காற்றோடு ஊடலும்

பேரன்பின் தருணங்கள்!

தளிரோடும் சக இலையோடும்

பூவோடும் காய் கனியோடும்

உறவு வளர்த்த நாழிகை

பேரின்பம் மிகுந்தவை!

இப்போதான இந்த நிகழ்தல் என்பது...

மண் மீதான பிரியத்தின்

உயர்ந்த பட்ச

வெளிப்பாடாயிருக்கலாம்!

பிறிதோர் இலைமீதான

தன் காதலை நிரூபிக்க

வேறு வழியின்றித்

தன்னையே மாய்த்திருக்கலாம்!

பிராணி ஒன்றின் பசி தீர்க்கத்

தியாகம் புரிந்திருக்கலாம்!

பறவை ஒன்றின் சிறகசைப்பின்

பாதிப்பாயிருக்கலாம்!

அல்லது சூழ்ச்சியோ?

சிறு ஏமாற்றமோ? பெருந்துரோகமோ?

நிகழ்த்தப்பட்டிருக்கலாம்!

எது எப்படியோ!

ஒரு பிரிதலுக்குள்

பெருங்காட்டு நேசம்

நிச்சயம் புதையுண்டிருக்கும்!

IMAGES OF LOVE DIVINE

As the song of Koel crawling close to the ears

on an hour of dawn

As the sky poured torrentially

in the sweltering summer

As the sea-breeze caressing the body

when dusk turns crimson

As the soothing music of ‘Raja’

filling a late night robbed of sleep

As the fairy tale told by grandma with a relish

beneath the flowing moon

As the warm tea comforting

in the small interval amidst heavy downpour

As the strand of lovely peacock plume

in the centre page of the textbook

that the school girl guards

day in and day out springs resoundingly

within me

the images of your

Great Grand Love.

பேரன்பின் படிமங்கள்

புலரும் பொழுதொன்றில் காதோரம் தவழ்ந்து வரும்

குயில் பாடல் போலவும்

கோடைப் புளுக்கத்தில் கொட்டித் தீர்த்ததொரு

மழை வானம் போலவும்

அந்தி சிவக்கையிலே தேகம் வருடிச் செல்லும்

ஆழிக்கரைக் காற்றாகவும்

உறக்கம் தொலைத்த ஒரு பின்னிரவை நிரப்புகின்ற

சுகமான ராஜ கீதமாகவும்

பொழியும் நிலவொளியில் பாட்டி ரசித்துக் கூறும்

தேவதைக் கதையாகவும்

பெரு மழையின் சிறு இடை வெளியில் இதமாகும்

மிதமான சுடு தேநீராகவும்

பள்ளிச்சிறுமி பாதுகாக்கும் பாடப்புத்தக

நடுப்பக்க அழகிய மயிலிறகாகவும்

அனுதினமும் எனக்குள்ளே ஆர்ப்பரித்து எழுகின்றன
