MY YOUNGER BROTHER IS A CONJURER

Coins of trivial denominations

are little boys

if tumble down

they would writhe in pain

tiny ones specs of grains

hiding them inside the piggybanks

if the son breaks it open and pour it all down

those battalions of coins would laugh merrily

When the coins roll on

not knowing where to go

they would proceed somewhere

This place is ours

The coins of no significance and we

can go hand in hand.

Coins are the flying plates of

Kids no-good

They would come flying in these

and alighting would swarm the shops.

Those cursed mosquitoes

are coin-lovers

They are the goblins

burying deep the coins.

I too had been a goblin

in my box

I used to bury the coins

under the book.

Just as the conjurer

dug deep for treasure

my younger brother

would have dug and accessed my treasure.

The coins always have a smiling face

Give me the face of coins

I pray to God.

I want not a face

as an unsmiling huge ‘currency note

with a face turned frozen

offering donation

Let the note stay inside the case.

Let the coins scatter all over the face.

என் தம்பி மந்திரவாதி

சில்லறைகள்

சிறார்கள்

விழுந்தால்

துடிக்கும்

குஞ்சுகள் குறுனல்கள்

உண்டியலுக்குள் பதுக்கிவைத்து

பிள்ளை

உடைத்து

கொட்டினால்

கலகலக்கும்

காசுப் பட்டாளங்கள்

சில்லறைகள்

உருண்டோடும்போது

எங்கு போவதென்று தெரியாமல்

எங்காவது போகும்

இந்த இடம் நமது இடம்

நமக்கும் சில்லறைக்கும்

சரி வரும்

சில்லறைகள்

கழிசன்காறக் குழந்தைகளின்

பறக்கும் தட்டுகள்

இவற்றில் பறந்து இறங்கி

கடைகளை மொய்ப்பார்கள்

கழிசன் கொசுக்கள்

சில்லறைப் பிரியர்கள்

அவர்கள் சில்லறைகளை தோண்டிப் புதைக்கும்

பூதங்கள்

நானும் ஒரு பூதமாக

இருந்திருக்கிறேன்

எனது பெட்டிக்குள்

புத்தகத்தின் கீழே

சில்லறைகள் புதைப்பேன்

எனது தம்பி

மந்திரவாதி

புதையல் தோண்டியதைப்போல

என் புதையலை எடுத்தும் இருப்பான்

சில்லறைக்கு எப்போதும்

சிரித்த முகம்

எனக்கு சில்லறை முகம் தா இறைவா என்று

பிரார்த்திக்கிறேன்

பெரிய நோட்டுப்போன்ற புன்னகை பூக்காத

தானத்தால் முகம் விறைத்த

ஒரு முகம் வேண்டாம்

நோட்டு பைக்குள் இருக்கட்டும்

சில்லறை முகத்தில் தெறிக்கட்டும்

One dove
Two
Three
Countless
Thousands of doves
today stand atop the roofs of schools
and pray for our children.

Our clan

I too raise my eyes partaking in the prayer of doves.

In the world where we should always be learning
The doves that want to keep seeing those
Learning always
See their dreams anew inside the school itself.

Just as children
The dove too dream of
Flying high and higher

The doves that have made as the foremost lesson of the school
how to shake off their shit
stand on the roof in rows
as students in the morning assembly.

Here the students hold their pen and shape their life.
So also the doves carrying twigs in their small beaks
enable their lives soar high.

எண்ண முடியாது
ஆயிரம் புறாக்கள்
மூடிக்கிடக்கும் பாடசாலையின்
கூரைகளில் நின்று
பிள்ளைகளுக்காக பிரார்த்திக்கின்றன
நமது சனங்கள்
நானும் புறாக்களின் பிரார்த்தனைகளுக்கு கண்ணேந்துகிறேன்
எப்போதும் கற்றுக்கொண்டிருக்கவேண்டிய
உலகத்தில்
எப்போதும் கற்றுக்கொண்டிருப்பவர்களை
பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்க விரும்புகின்ற புறாக்கள்
தங்கள் பசிய கனவுகளை
பாடசாலைக்குள்ளேயே
காணுகின்றன
புறாக்களின் கனவும்
பிள்ளைகளைப் போன்று
உயர உயரப் பறப்பதாகும்
தங்கள் எச்சத்தை தட்டும்
பாடத்தை
பாடசாலையின்
முதலாவது பாடமாக்கிவிட்ட புறாக்கள்
மாணவர்கள் காலைக் கூட்டத்தில்
நிற்பதுமாதிரி
கூரைகளில் வரிசையாக நிற்கின்றன
பேனை பிடித்து மாணவர்கள்
தங்கள் வாழ்க்கையை இங்கு
கட்டமைக்கிறார்கள்
அலகுகளில் குச்சி பிடித்து புறாக்களும்
தங்களின் வாழ்க்கையை
உயரத்தில் ஆக்கிவிடுகின்றன
