THE PET PUPPY OF POWER
Having scabies all over its skin
So thin
Yet it is the pet puppy of Power
When the powers- that- be say
that prices are increased for
setting right the puppy’s fractured leg
The pet puppy of Power would be jumping
leaping and playing
at the threshold of the burnt quarters
When the life of the pet puppy is being sold in kilos
at the world market
scratching its body hurriedly
looking at the man who was hanging lifeless
in the electric cable
the pet puppy would bark coaxing
“Should work carefully, don’t you know?’
Even after death reaches the tip of its nose
the pet puppy of powers that be
Calling 119
complain that it was dragged and forced to
come along
And gulping the filthy water
running along the front gate
so quenching its thirst
would lie crouching
_the pet puppy of Power.
Sans brain
Sans sensitivity
It has no clear vision of the
Present.
The stench of filth in which it loiters
is beyond comprehension.
It knows not the pretension
of its master
playing the game of dice
at its expense
turning more and more affluent.
O, the pet puppies of Power
You are also beasts of prey
Your object of hunt
is sitting on you.
Casting aside petting and playing
jerking the body
full of scabies
so thin
and leg broken
let us pounce upon Power
for a new life; secure and better.

கால் உடைந்தது
தோலெல்லாம் சொறி பிடித்தது
மெலிந்தது
ஆனாலும் அது அதிகாரத்தின் செல்லமான நாய்க்குட்டி
அதிகாரம் நாயின் உடைந்த காலைச் சரிசெய்ய
விலைகளைக் கூட்டுவதாகக் கூறும்போது
அதிகாரத்தின் செல்ல நாய்க்குட்டி
துள்ளி துள்ளி
எரிந்த லயத்தின் வாசலில் விளையாடிக் கொண்டிருக்கும்
உலகசந்தையில் செல்ல நாய்க்குட்டியின்
வாழ்வு கிலோ கணக்கில் விற்கப்படும்போது
பரபரவெனத் தன் உடலைச் சொறிந்துக் கொண்டு
மின்சார கம்பியில் செத்து தொங்கியவனை பார்த்து
அதிகாரத்தின் செல்ல நாய்க்குட்டி
“கவனமா வேல செய்யுனு தானே” எனக் குரைத்து கொஞ்சும்
மூக்குநுனிக்கு மரணம் வந்தபிறகும்
அதிகாரத்தின் செல்ல நாய்க்குட்டி
119 இற்கு அழைப்பெடுத்து
தன்னை கைபிடித்து இழுத்ததாய் கூறி அழுது
முன் வாசலில் ஓடும்
கழிவறை தண்ணீர் குடித்து
தாகம் தீர்த்து சுருண்டு படுக்கும்
அதிகாரத்தின் செல்ல நாய்க்குட்டி
மூளையற்றது
சுரணையற்றது
அதற்கு நிகழ்காலம் குறித்த தெளிவில்லை.
அது உழலும் அசிங்கத்தின் நாற்றம் விளங்காதது
தன்னை பகடையாக்கி கொழுக்கும் எஜமானின்
நாடகம் அறியாதது
ஓ... அதிகாரத்தின் செல்ல நாய்க்குட்டிகளே
நீங்களும் வேட்டைப்பிராணிகள்தான்
உங்கள் வேட்டைப்பொருள்
உங்கள் மீது அமர்ந்திருக்கிறது
சொறிபிடித்த மெலிந்த உடைந்த காலுள்ள,
உடலை உதறி எழுந்து,
விளையாட்டுகள், கொஞ்சல்களை தள்ளிவைத்து,
புதிய வாழ்விற்காய்
வெறிப்பிடித்து பாய்வோம்
அதிகாரத்தின் மீது...
