THE SPLENDOUR OF DAWN

The Dawning East alone is

the Great Grand Beauty

Wonder who had woven….

those shining golden saris
of the cloud-nurses
who so fondly chitchatting
gently kissing and pulling out
hugging and wiping
the little Sun
that went on bathing
in the not so tumultuous early morn sea
stubbornly refusing to step out…

It must have been those heavenly silkworms
reared exclusively for the silken garments
of the long-eyed beauties
carrying wine-cups
that had exuded these
golden threads

Are these golden threads
offered as thanksgiving
for saving the infant-silkworm
that had slipped
while wading through the wind
curling and coiling,
holding close and nursing it?

Along the seashore road
that crisscross the dissolving foams
there go for morning exercises
in rows and rows
these young soldiers who
I deeply sympathize with

Hey you, the master going in front
with grim face so frozen
wielding the cane of authority
and with the hoarse cry of the one
leading buffaloes….

Learn from these caretakers
called clouds
who so softly caress the head
and guide the great Sun ahead
the sanctity of teaching and caretaking

வெளுக்கும் கிழக்கொன்றே பேரழகு.
யார் நெய்ததோ..............
கொந்தளிப்புக் குறைந்த அதிகாலைக் கடலுக்குள்
மூழ்கிக் குளித்தபடி அடம்பிடிக்கும்
சூரியக்குஞ்சை
மிகஆதரவாய் கதைபேசி
முத்தமிட்டு
இழுத்தணைத்துத் துவட்டிவிடும் மேகச்செவிலியரின்
தகதகக்கும் தங்கச்சேலைகளை.
மதுக்குவளைகளேந்திய நீளக்கண்ணழகியரின்
பட்டாடைகளுக்கென
பிரத்தியேகமாய் வளர்க்கப்படும்
சுவனத்துப் பட்டுப்புழுதான்
சுரந்திருக்க வேணுமதன் சொர்ணயிழைகளை
காற்றைக்கீறி நெளிகையில்
கால்தவறி வீழ்ந்த
பட்டுக்குஞ்சை
பத்திரமாய் ஏந்தி மார்பூட்டியதற்குப்
பகரமாய் பெற்றதோ
இப்பொன்சரிகைகள்.
கரையும் நுரைகளைக் குறுக்கறுத்துப் போகும்
கரையோரவீதியில்
காலைப்பயிற்சிக்கென
நிரைநிரையாய் விரைகின்றனர்
ஐயோபாவமென நானுருகும் இவ்விளம்சிப்பாய்கள்
இறுகிய மொட்டைமுகத்தோடும் அதிகாரப் பிரம்போடும்
எருமைமாடுகளை வழிநடத்துபவனின் கூக்குரலோடுமாய்
முன்செல்லும் பயிற்றுவிப்பாளனே.......
மிகமென்மையாய் தலைதடாவி
சூரியனையே வழிநடாத்தும்
இம்மேகச்செவிலியரிடம் இருந்தாவது கற்றுக்கொள்
பயிற்றுவிப்பின்......பராமரிப்பின் உன்னதங்களை.
