 A house

built brick by brick
Thousands of books
pervaded the house shrouding it.
One and only son
born after many years.
When the void
had taken away the entire past
from a father
and turned him into an ailing child
he vanished into thin air,
as a riddle unravelled,
inside the garden plants planted and sprouted anew

She became the nurse and the mother
Inside her smile her tears drying up turned into a stone.

With the norms of life weighing heavy on her back
that old age had bent
the tiny flowers in the plants
and the birds of morn
rejuvenated her.

She cherished tales for her son
who would be returning some day.

She remained dreaming
and waiting.

His memory proved her very breath….

That he is no more
and the soil where he perished is
no more
News about the soil perishing _ nowhere, any more
So have gone years more and more _
Whom to tell her all these and more?

சிறுகக் கட்டியது

வீட்டை மூடிப் பரந்தது
ஒரேயொரு புதல்வன்
பல வருடங்கள் கழித்த பின்னால் தோன்றியவன்
வெற்றிடம்
ஒரு முதிய தந்தையிடம் கடந்த காலத்தை முழுதாய் எடுத்து
நோயாளிக் குழந்தையாக்கிய போது
புதிதாய் நட்டுப் பூத்த தோட்டத்துச் செடிகளுக்குள்
அவன் புதிராய்ப் போனான்
தாதியும் தாயும் ஆனாள் மனையாள்
புன்னகைக்குள் அவள் கண்ணீர் வற்றிக் கல்லாயிற்று.
வயோதிபம் கூனிய முதுகில் நியதி சுருண்டழுத்த
செடிச் சிறு பூக்களும் காலைப் பறவைகளும்
தென்பைத் தந்தன அவளுக்கு.
ஒருநாள் திரும்பி வர இருக்கும் புதல்வனுக்காய்
கதைகளை அடைகாத்தாள்
கனவுகள் கண்டாள்
காத்திருந்தாள்
அவன் நினைவு அவள் மூச்சாயிருந்தது
அவனிறந்து
அவனிறந்த இடத்து மண்ணிறந்து
மண்ணிறந்த செய்திகளிறந்து
வருடங்கள் பலவாயிற்று என்பதை யார் அவளுக்குச் சொல்வது.
