THE STORY OF THE JUNGLE.

The father began telling a story to his son.

There was a jungle.
It was so vast
The boy ran into the forest.
There were rocks plants creepers and all
all too densely spread.
He was going past all those.
In order to get hold of him
the father followed suit.
On the way a hillock stood.
The boy reached the other side in one leap.
The father couldn’t believe.
A river came in the way.
Without halting the son and father
walked on the waters.
The little boy was flying at great speed
above the trees.
Finally they reached the cave.
A tiger was keeping vigil.
The boy began pulling its stripes and playing.
Father fear-stricken
sat outside the cave
and continued with his story.
The son went on with his ‘Mmm..
even in his sleep.

காட்டின் கதை

சிறுவனுக்கு ஒரு கதையை
தந்தை சொல்ல ஆரம்பித்தான்
ஒரு காடு இருந்தது
அது மிகவும் பெரிதானது
காட்டிற்குள் சிறுவன் ஓடினான்
பாறைகளும் செடிகொடிகளும் அடர்ந்திருந்தன
அவற்றைத் தாண்டிப் போய்க் கொண்டிருந்தான்
அவனைப் பிடிக்க தந்தையும் சென்றான்
குன்று ஒன்று எதிர்ப்பட்டது
சிறுவன் ஒரே தாவில் மறுபுறம் குதித்தான்
பின்னாலேயே தந்தையும் வந்ததால்
கையைப் பிடித்துத் தாண்ட வைத்தான்
தந்தையால் நம்பவே முடியவில்லை
ஒரு நதி குறுக்கிட்டது
மகனும் தந்தையும் நிற்காமல்
நீரின் மேல் நடந்து கடந்தார்கள்
சிறுவன் வேகமாக மரங்களின் மீது
பறந்து கொண்டிருந்தான்
தொடர்ந்து கொண்டிருந்தான் தந்தை
கடைசியாக குகையை அடைந்தார்கள்
அங்கு ஒரு புலி காத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தது
சிறுவன் அதனுடைய வரிகளை
இழுத்து விளையாடத் தொடங்கினான்
தந்தை பயந்தபடி
குகைக்கு வெளியிலேயே அமர்ந்து
தொடர்ந்து சொல்லிக் கொண்டிருந்தான்
மகன் தூக்கத்திலேயே உம் கொட்டிக் கொண்டிருந்தான்."
