1.THE CROCODILE OF SALTY WATER

A crocodile of the salty water sleeps
keeping its head inside water
and body on the silvery sand
Its torso then
commencing from rainy season
has stretched right up to summer.

1 .உப்புநீர் முதலை

உப்புநீர் முதலையொன்று துயில்கிறது
தலையை நீருக்குள்ளும் ,
உடலை வெண்மணலிலும்
கிடத்தியபடி
அப்போது அதனுடல்
கார்காலத்தில் துவங்கி
கோடைகாலம் வரை நீண்டிருந்தது

2.THE PICKLE JAR

The word grandma

So like the age-old pickle jar in the house
broke yesterday.
Mother wailed beating her bosom.
After some time
elder sister gave birth to another child.
As if buying another jar and placing it
once again the word grandma came to be.
After living for just three days
that child too passed away.
Now the small jar and the big jar
broke together.

ஊறுகாய் ஜாடி
--------------------------
வீட்டில் பழமையான
ஊறுகாய் ஜாடியை போலிருந்த
பாட்டியென்ற வார்த்தை
உடைந்து போனது நேற்று.
அம்மா மாரடித்து அழுதாள் .
சிறிது காலத்திற்குப் பின்
அக்காவிற்கு மீண்டும் குழந்தை பிறந்தது .
வேறொரு ஜாடியை வாங்கிக் கொண்டு வைத்தது போல
வீட்டில் மீண்டும்
பாட்டியென்ற வார்த்தை உருவானது .
மூன்று நாட்கள் இருந்துவிட்டு
அக்குழந்தை இறந்து விட்டது .
இப்போது குட்டி ஜாடியும் ,
பெரிய ஜாடியும்
சேர்ந்தே உடைந்து போனது .
