It there be one so great
to make us prostrate at his feet
If there be one
ever remembering the help received
with gratitude
If there be one
returning without fail the loan
If there be one
with no contradiction with his woman
If there be one
keeping up his word
If there be one
choosing as his life-companion
a woman forsaken
The fact that I live in his time
is truly Boon Sublime.
காலைத் தொட்டு வணங்கும் அளவுக்கு
ஒருவர் இருப்பாரென்றால்
நன்றி மறவா நெஞ்சுடன்
ஒருவர் இருப்பாரென்றால்
கொடுத்த பணத்தைத் திருப்பித்தந்த
ஒருவர் இருப்பாரென்றால்
மனைவியோடு ஒருபோதும் முரண்படாத
ஒருவர் இருப்பாரென்றால்
சொன்ன வாக்கைக் காப்பாற்றிய
ஒருவர் இருப்பாரென்றால்
இன்னொருவர் கைவிட்ட பெண்ணைக் கட்டிய
ஒருவர் இருப்பாரென்றால்
அவர் காலத்தில் வாழ்வதும்
நான் பெற்ற வரமே.
