LIFE TRAUMATIC

At the moment when you see

a streak of sorrow in the refugee girl
Who at dusk stares at the horizon
forgetting to play
She dissolves in the vast space of old age.
In an effort to conceal the meta-narratives
of angst
giving out a pale smile she goes past.
I appeal to the mighty ones
to extend their hands
so as not to slip in the moss of youth,
for securing
joyous golden hour of dusk
to those small boys in swing.

அலைக்கழிப்பின் வாழ்வில்
அந்தியில்
விளையாட மறந்து
அடிவானம் பார்க்கும்
அகதிச் சிறுமியிடத்தில்
அலைக்கழிப்பின் துயரக்கோடொன்றைக்
காணும் கணமொன்றில்
மூப்பின் பெருவெளியில் கரைகிறாள்.
அவலத்தின் பெருங்கதையாடல்களை
மறைத்திடும் முகமாக
வெளிறிய புன்சிரிப்பொன்றை
உதிர்த்துக் கடக்கிறாள்.
பருவத்தின் பாசிகளில் வழுவாதிருக்க
கரம் நீட்டுமாறு
வல்லவர்களை வேண்டுகிறேன்.
ஊஞ்சலாடும் சிறுவர்களின் மகிழ்வான
பொன்மாலைப் பொழுதுக்காக.
