THAT MOTHER

Lies crouched

at one corner of the patio.
First she let go the child within her.
In the place left by the child
the mother’s face glows luminously.

That Mother is sitting in the chair.
with the trail of the little girl within
making her exit
the Word coming out is
rapturously elated.

That Mother is knitting mat
plaiting dry coconut leaves
After getting rid of her mother-in-law
from inside
her present mother remains
by her side.

That Mother is sitting in the temple courtyard.
After getting rid of everything
Lovingly
glows
Her Fire.

அந்த தாய்
திண்ணையின் ஓரத்தில்
சுருண்டு படுத்திருக்கிறாள்
முதலில் தனக்குள்ளிருந்த குழந்தையை
வெளியேற்றினாள்
குழந்தை விட்டு வெளியேறிய இடத்தில்
பிரகாசமாயிருக்கிறது
தாயின் முகம்
அந்த தாய் நாற்காலியில் அமர்ந்திருக்கிறாள்
மனதின் சிறுமி வெளியேறிய தடத்துடன்
பூரித்துப் போயிருக்கிறது
வெளிப்படும்
சொல்
அந்த தாய் ஓலைக்கீற்றில்
பாய் முடைந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறாள்
தனது உள்ளத்தில் இருந்த மாமியாரை
வெளியேற்றிய பின்னர்
அவளிடம்
ஒட்டிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறாள்
இப்போதைய
அன்னை
அந்த தாய் பிரகாரத்தில்
வந்து அமர்ந்திருக்கிறாள்
அனைத்தையும் வெளியேற்றிய பின்
காதலுடன்
சுடர்கிறது
அவள் நெருப்பு
