(1) THE SMILE ACROSS

Ere our dusk decline and dry up

In water brimming with quietude

Your soft yellow would spread for your sake.

On shore on the other side

deeply restive and all shaken

the war of killing innocent people

who had done nothing wrong

is going on all along.

The never to freeze scream and wail

of the gullible ones

settle on the twilight sun slipping down.

On this side

throughout the hours

with just a few moving hither and thither

cautious of the impending arrival of the

deadly missile

as taking precaution

the heart hastens to hide its life

in the bunker at the bottom rung.

In between

The smile of the evening sun

alighting on Dnipro river

with tinkling lovely anklets

sprinkles again the solace of life

well-blended with Hope unstained

மறுபுறத்துப் புன்னகை

நம்மந்தி சாய்ந்து காயமுன்

அமைதி ததும்பி மிதக்கும் நீரில்

உன்பொருட்டு படருமுன் இளமஞ்சள்.

நிம்மதியிழந்து பதறும் மறு கரையில்,

தப்பு எதுவுமே செய்யாத சனங்களைக்கொல்லும்

யுத்தம் நடந்தேறுகிறது.

அப்பாவிகளின் உறையா ஓலம்,

சாயும் அந்திச்சூரியனில் படிகிறது.

இந்தப்பக்கம்,

சிறு நடமாட்டம் கொண்ட பொழுது முழுவதும்,

உயிர்காவ எத்தனிக்கும் ஏவுகணை

வருமுன்னதான எச்சரிக்கையோடு,

வாழ்வுயிரை கொண்டு ஒளித்து

வைக்கிறது மனம், அடித்தட்டில் உள்ள பதுங்கு குழியில்.

நடுவில், அழகு சதங்கையோடு டினிப்றோ ஓடுமாறில்

பட்டெழும் மாலைச்சூரிய புன்னகை

வாழ்க்கை இதத்தை, மீளவும் நம்பிக்கை கலந்து தூவுகிறது.

(2) A HANDFUL OF THUNDER

All my metaphors

You alone construct

Sometimes as

Snow soft soothing the heart

Torrential downpour

Early morn heat pleasant

Wind vicious

Lightning Thunder _

Eventually you did just that

Converting snow

so gentle and tender

into a handful of thunder.

ஒரு பிடி இடி

.......................

என் படிமம் முழுவதையும்

நீயே உருவாக்கிறாய்

சில நேரம் இளம் பனி இதமாக

கொட்டும் மழையாக

இளம் காலை வெயிலாக

கடும் காற்றாக

மின்னலாக, இடியாக

கடைசியாக அப்படித்தான் செய்தாய்

இளம் பனியை ஒரு பிடி இடியாக...!
