MADURAI SATHYA

As the mother went running to catch the bus

lifting the child in her hand

The child had to let slip its lollypop.

Looking at the fallen candy longingly

the child had started sobbing.

With the day

wherein the grownups

having no time to stop and stare

moved on stamping on the lollypop

lying there

coming to an end

and the night commencing

small ants started swarming all over the lollypop.

The child which continued sobbing till then

thinking of the lollypop slipped and fallen

Thanks to the blessing of these tiny ants

calmed down

and set forth to sleep therein.

பேருந்தைப் பிடிக்க குழந்தையை

கையிலேந்தி ஓடிய அம்மாவின் பொருட்டு

தன் கையில் இருந்த லாலிபாப்பை

நழுவ விட்டது அக்குழந்தை

தரையில் விழுந்த லாலிபாப்பை

ஏக்கத்துடன் கைக்காட்டி

அழ ஆரம்பித்திருந்தது

லாலிபாப்பை கவனிக்காத மனிதர்கள் அதனை காலால் மிதித்தப்படி கடந்துப் போய்க்கொண்டிருக்க

பகல் அடங்கி இரவு முளைத்தபின்

தரையில் கிடந்த லாலிபாப்பை சுற்றி சிற்றெறும்புகள் மொய்க்கத் தொடங்கியது

அதுவரை கைத்தவறிய லாலிபாப் குறித்த விசும்பலில் இருந்த குழந்தை எறும்புகளின் ஆசிர்வாதத்தில் இப்போது ஆசுவாசமாக படுத்துறங்கத் தயாரானது .

I am not all that familiar

to the two and a half year old

Little Shoby Dear

Just four days since she has joined my class

Wonder why but she keeps pursuing me

sits in my lap alone

In the place where I leave my footwear

she too brings and keeps hers.

Just as whenever rain comes

Sun would also come for a brief spell

offering rainbow.

Ho!

In such short-term Love do I repose

and rejuvenate

பெரிதாய் ஒன்றும் பரிட்சயமில்லை

இரண்டரை வயதான சோபிகுட்டிக்கு

நான்குநாட்கள் தான் ஆகியது

என் வகுப்பிற்குள் சேர்ந்து

ஏனோ என்னைத் தொடர்கிறாள்

என் மடிமீது மட்டுமே அமர்கிறாள்

என் காலணியை வைக்குமிடத்திலே

அவளும் தன்னுடையதை

கொண்டு வந்து வைக்கிறாள்

மழை வரும்போதெல்லாம் வெயில் வந்து கொஞ்ச நேரம் வானவில்லை

தந்துவிட்டு செல்வதுபோல்

இப்படியான குறுகியகால அன்பில் அவ்வப்போது என்னை இளைப்பாற்றிக்கொள்கிறேன்..
