To the hairstylist I said thus without actually spelling it out:

It should appear cropped

and also not so

The hair-pillar at the ear-corner

should appear stretched

and also not so

The moustache should appear

neatly trimmed

and also not so.

In relationships some are

so-so

– isn’t it so

And in some friendships

we remain so - so

And the days are spent so

Isn’t it so

For me - so and so -

who falls at the feet of this ghost- heart

day-in and day-out

what is there so new about it

Ho-Ho......

முடிதிருத்தும் கலைஞனிடம் சொல்லாமல் சொன்னேன்

முடி வெட்டுன மாதிரியும் இருக்கணும்

வெட்டாத மாதிரியும்

இருக்கணும்..

காதோர மயிர்த்தூண்

நீட்டின மாதிரியும் இருக்கட்டும்

நீட்டாத மாதிரியும்

இருக்கட்டும்..

மீசை கத்தரித்த மாதிரியும் தெரியணும்

கத்தரிக்காத மாதிரியும் தெரியணும்

உறவுகளில் தொட்டும் தொடாமலும்

சில நட்புகளில்

பட்டும் படாமலும்

இருப்பதில்லையா..

படிந்தும் படியாமலும்

நாளும் நாளும் கழிவதில்லையா..

அன்றாடம் பேய் மனதின் தாள் பணிந்து எழும்

எனக்கிதென்ன
