THANKS TO THUNDERSTORM

How so much of shrunken leaves

How so many a twig

This green tree had

For shedding off all things unnecessary

A thunderstorm is essential, it seems.

For shaking one or two leaves at first

And then shaking their ribs

And their

And their branches

For taking steps with composure

and to seize it lock stock and barrel

a thunderstorm is indeed essential, it seems

A bird would soar above

A piece of paper would do the same

A bird would be reaching its nest

A piece of paper would be reaching its ground

For understanding the heights

A thunderstorm is indeed essential, it seems.

When the announcement came asking the people

to move to safer places

A woman not an insider of the people

stretches out the roadside roof and ties it taut

When the comments were being made

that the people have suffered heavy loss

She loosens her roof and folds it

For being smart

in the hour of haste

எவ்வளவு சருகையும்

எவ்வளவு சுள்ளிகளையும்

இந்தப் பச்சை மரம் வைத்திருந்திருக்கிறது

தேவையற்றதை உதறிப் போட

ஒரு புயல் அவசியம்தான் போலிருக்கிறது.

முதலில் ஒன்றிரண்டு இலைகள் அசைத்து

அவற்றின் ஈர்க்குகள் அசைத்து

அவற்றின் சிமிருகள் அசைத்து

அவற்றின் கிளைகள் அசைத்து

அவற்றின் மரம் அசைத்து...

நிதானமாய் அடியெடுத்து ஆட்கொள்ள

ஒரு புயல் அவசியம்தான் போலிருக்கிறது.

மேலெழும்பும் ஒரு பறவை

மேலெழும்பும் ஒரு காகிதம்

கூடடையும் பறவை

தரை சேரும் காகிதம்

உயரங்களைப் புரிந்துகொள்ள

ஒரு புயல் அவசியம்தான் போலிருக்கிறது.

பொதுமக்கள் பாதுகாப்பான இடத்திற்குச் செல்ல அறிவிப்பு வந்தபோது

பொதுமக்களுள் இல்லாத ஒருத்தி

சாலையோரக் கூரையை இழுத்துக் கட்டுகிறாள்

பொதுமக்களின் இழப்பு பெரிதென பேசிக்கொண்டிருக்கையில்

அவள் தனது கூரையைத் தளர்த்தி சுருட்டி வைக்கிறாள்

வேகத்தில் புத்தியோடிருக்க
