THEY

When they were conversing

They talked not

of renovating their house;

nor of attires stupendous,

not of Love

nor of War

Not of Beauty

But

they were talking about

a square meal for today

They were discussing at length

about the hunger of their

starving children.

Poor they – those men and women

Watching from inside their quarters

the Noon-Sun

could be clearly seen.

அவர்கள்

அவர்களோடு பேசிக் கொண்டிருந்த போது

அவர்கள் தங்களின் வீட்டைச் சரி செய்வது பற்றி பேசவில்லை

அழகான உடைகள் பற்றிப் பேசவில்லை

வீரம் பற்றிப் பேசவில்லை

காதல் பற்றிப் பேசவில்லை

போர்கள் பற்றிப் பேசவில்லை

அழகு பற்றிப் பேசவில்லை

அவர்கள் இன்றைய பொழுதிற்கான உணவு பற்றி

பேசிக் கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்

குழந்தைகளின் பசி பற்றி நிறையவே

பேசிக் கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.

வீட்டிற் குள்ளிருந்து பார்த்த போது

உச்சிச் சூரியன்

அப்படியே தெரிந்து கொண்டிருந்தது.
