When the words entwining the reader

leave him
As fresh new
Clouds
Birds
they go flying
all over the place
belying his guess
Such words
write their autobiography
in a withered leaf
Sufi’s music
on a wall-painting
When the reader goes past this spot
some day
the words
transform themselves
tuned to his readership.

வாசகனை சுற்றிய சொற்கள்
அவனிடமிருந்து வெளியேறும் போது
புதுப்புது
மேகங்களாய்
பறவைகளாய்
பிராந்தியம் எங்கும் அவன் ஊகிக்க முடியாதபடி
பறந்து செல்கின்றன.
அவ்வாறான சொற்கள்
விண்வெளியெங்கும்
உதிர்ந்த இலையென்றிலும்
சூஃபியன் இசையிலும்
சுவர் ஒன்றின் ஓவியத்திலும்
தன் வரலாற்றை எழுதிக் கொள்கின்றன
வாசகன் ஒருநாள் இப்பிராந்தியத்தை
கடந்து செல்லும் போது சொற்கள்
அவனது வாசிப்புக்கு ஏற்றால்போல்
தன்னை மாற்றிக்கொள்கின்றன.
