We have cast away the nest

with venom unleashed.

Yet

the voice of the Koel

filled with anguish and despair

hovers over the nest

shattered beyond repair.

This is how I carried him

who went as witness for my sake

Mother said: Be silent….

Write not a word…

Don’t turn enraged

This is how one should press the

cartridges

said my friend …

The shot missed the target

Comrades bear the burden……

The burden of burial ground

weighed in the tears of everyone…

Tell now, isn’t the Koel’s voice of

anguish and despair

reverberating in the graveyard too,

everywhere…..

கூட்டை குரோதத்துடன் அகற்றியிருந்தோம்..

ஆனாலும்

குயிலின் ஈனக்குரல்

இன்னும்

சிதைந்த கூட்டைச் சுற்றி அலைகிறது.

எனக்காக

அவன் சாட்சியாய்ப் போனவனை

இப்படித்தான்

சுமந்தேன்.

அம்மா சொன்னாள்..மௌனமாக இரு..

எதையும் எழுதாதே..கோபங்கொள்ளாதே..

வில்லைகளை

இப்படித்தான் அழுத்தவேண்டும் என தோழனும் சொன்னான்..

குறி பிசகியது..

தோழர்கள் சுமக்கிறார்கள்.

இடுகாட்டின் கனதி அனைவரின் கண்ணீரில் தெரிந்தது..

இப்போது சொல்..

குயிலின் ஈனக்குரல் இடுகாட்டிலும் ஒலிக்கிறது..

Yes Mother

Life is not easy

Miles to go

Many more steps, staircase

Bends and turns myriad

But, what are these

You have never said anything openly

Here in front of me also

stretches a luminous path

I would cross it, for sure

Just as thee, Mother.

ஆம் அம்மா

வாழ்க்கை சுலபமானதல்ல

இன்னும் நிறைய தூரம்

நிறைய படிக்கட்டுகள்

நிறைய வளைவுகள் திருப்பங்கள்

ஆனால் இதெல்லாம் என்ன

இதை குறித்து

நேரிடையாக நீ ஏதும்

சொன்னதில்லை

இதோ என் முன்பும்

நீள்கிறது ஓர் ஒளிப்பாதை

அதை நிச்சயம் கடப்பேன்

உன்னைப் போலவே
