1
During night time
Crossing the road
Proves difficult indeed
Someone’s assuring embrace is required.
The lights of the wagons speeding along the road
Sparkling as stars
Turn you all dazed.
As the sky had alighted
She who
carrying the basket of flowers
crossing the road too
bears the stars.
Carrying two stars
I cross the road
All over
starry eyes galore.

இரவு வேளையில்
நகரத்தில் சாலையை
குறுக்காக கடப்பது எளியதானயில்லை
யாரோ ஒருவரின் அரவணைப்பில்
போகவேண்டியதாயிருக்கிறது
சாலையில் போகும் உந்துகளின் விளக்குகள் நட்சத்திரங்களாய்க்
கண்ணைப் பறிக்கின்றன
வானம் தரையிறங்கியது போல.
பூக்கூடை சுமந்து சாலையை
கடக்கும் அவளும் நட்சத்திரங்களை
சுமக்கிறாள்.
இரு நட்சத்திரங்களை சுமந்து
சாலையைக் கடக்கிறேன்
சாலையெல்லாம்
நட்சத்திர கண்களாக.

Things I know are already known to you also…..
The man who slump and fall down
along the road stretching all too long
I come across for the very first time.
But because he was not known before
can I abandon him and go?
Maybe he is known to all here.
Though I know not
In this condition isn’t it the fact
That for me he is the one utmost important.
Just a drop of water will do
Just a slight hug will do
Just an iota of anxiety will do
All we need is just a drop
A little drop is all that we need
to settle inside him as Love indeed.

எனக்குத் தெரியும் என்பதெல்லாம்
உங்களுக்கும் முன்னேயே
தெரியும் தானே!
நெடும் வழியில் மயக்கமுற்று
சுருண்டு தரைபாவி விழும் மனிதனை நான் அறிகிறேன் முதன் முதலாய்,
இதற்கு முன்னர் அறியாதவர் என்பதால்
அவரை விட்டுட்டு போக முடியுமா?
எல்லோருக்கு இங்கு அவர் தெரிந்திருக்கலாம்.
எனக்கு அவர் தெரியாதவர் எனினும்,
இந்நிலையில் அவர் தானே முக்கியம்
ஒரு துளி நீர் போதும்
ஒரு துளி அணைத்தல் போதும்
ஒரு துளி பதற்றம் போதும்
ஒரு துளி தான் அன்பென
அவரில் உறைந்துவிட.
