The need of all birds

Is just a nest

for the wings to rest and refresh.

A branch in a small tree;

A corner upon the roof

of a ruined house;

A cavity in a tree sans chlorophyll;

A spot under a buzzing flyover

All that the bird requires

is a nest, nothing more.

That is a lap that relieves the feathers

of their stress;

An ocean where the bird sheds off its fatigue.

That is its wide vast universe.

That which all birds long for and beseech

Is but that tiny nest

where its wings can rest and refresh.

எல்லாப் பறவையின் தேவையும்

இறுதியில் இறகுலத்த

ஒரு கூடு

சிறு மரத்திலொரு கிளை

பாழ் வீட்டின் கூரையிலொரு மூலை

பச்சையமிழந்த மரத்திலொரு பொந்து

பரபரப்புமிக்க மேம்பாலத்தின் கீழொரு பகுதி

அது எதுவாகினும் எங்காகினும்

பறவையின் தேவை

சிறு கூடு

அது சிறகின் பாரம் தளர்த்துமொரு மடி

உடலின் அசதி துறக்குமொரு

பெருஞ் சாகரம்

அதுதான் அதன் பேருலகம்

எல்லாப் பறவைகளும் நேசிப்பதும் யாசிப்பதும்

தம் இறகுலர்த்தும் அச்சிறு கூட்டையே..
