KADANGANERIYAN THAMIZHNAADU

She who says whenever the heart turns turbulent

I would sit on the river bank and look around all engrossed

starts swimming inside eyes.

Though known ferocious

The hunter’s heart is absolutely quiet

and the very embodiment of patience.

Isn’t the river’s journey all-Inclusive .

This bank or the bank on the other side

wherever we sit

in no time at all we set out journeying

knowingly or instinctively

With the current and the surrounding

turning us topsy-turvy

the ocean’s cool divine

spreads all inside

The heat bangs on all sides

as waves.

All the attempts at depicting the life lived

unable to lean on any side

dissolving

if I entrust myself in the hands of the inner light

it is intently washing away its sins

in the water that pours out of the ‘ritual pot’

of the final rites meant for me

with the ceremonial hole in place.

With this cool proving inadequate

and the heat intolerable

he who turns delirious

extracting sparks from the cinder

from the crematorium

where his body was afire

and smoking his own self

starts dancing ecstatically.

மனம் கொந்தளிக்கும் போதெல்லாம் நதிக்கரையில் அமர்ந்தபடி வேடிக்கை பார்க்கத் துவங்கிவிடுவேன் என்பவள்

கண்களுக்குள் நீந்தத் துவங்கிவிடுகிறாள்

மூர்க்கமாக அறியப்பட்டாலும்

வேட்டையாடியின் மனமோ அத்தனை அமைதியானதும் மிகப் பொறுமையானதும் கூட

அத்தனையையும் உள்ளடக்கியது தானே நதியின் பயணம்

அந்தக் கரையோ

இந்தக் கரையோ

எந்தப் பக்கத்தில் அமர்ந்திருந்தாலும்

ஒரு கணப் பொழுதில் பயணத்திற்கு அறிந்தோ அறியாமலோ தலைப்பட்டுவிடுகிறோம்

சுழலும் சூழலும் தலைகீழாக

புரட்டிப் போடும் போதிலும்

சமுத்திரத்தின் குளுமை உள்ளார்ந்தெழ

அலைகளென வெப்பம் மீண்டும் மீண்டும் வந்து மோதுகிறது

எந்தப் பக்கமும் சாய முடியாது

வாழ்ந்த வாழ்வினை தீட்ட முயற்சித்த அத்தனையும் நீர்மையில் கரைந்து போக

உள்ளொளி க்கு ஒப்புக் கொடுத்தால்

அது எனக்கான கொள்ளிக் கலையத்தை உடைக்கும் போதில் வெளியேகும் நீர்மையில்

தன் பாவத்தை கழுவிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது.

இந்தக் குளிரும் போதாது

இந்த வெப்பமும் தாளாது

பித்தேறியவன் மயானத்தில்

தன்னுடல் எரியும் சிதையின் கங்கிலிருந்து

தீயெடுத்து தன்னைத்தானே புகைத்தபடி

களி நடனமாடத் துவங்குகிறான்.
