ONLINE EDUCATION

She tried, sitting

Also tried, standing

And also tried leaning against the wall

Except her image

nothing else could be seen!

At last the video appeared

But, alas, no audio

The way my little daughter suffers

in the name of online education

is indescribable; unbearable.

My heart yearns to cast it away

as a façade of teaching and learning.

With Cell-phone held on both hands

and laptop on the table

struggling for hours together

Dialogue and Airtel

Mobytel and Hatsi

melting away what little money we have

fail to provide ‘coverage’.

Seeing the way she suffers

with her legs bearing the brunt

my heart grows burdensome.

மெய்நிகர் கல்வி

குந்தியிருந்து பார்த்தாள்.

எழும்பி நின்றும் பார்த்தாள்.

சுவரிலே சாய்ந்திருந்தும் பார்த்தாள்.

அவள் விம்பத்தை தவிர

வேறொன்றும் தெரியவில்லை. !

நிழல் வந்தும் ஒலியில்லை

மெய்நிகர் கற்றலுக்காய்

என் மகள் படும் துன்பத்தை

என்னவென்பேன்.?

பொய்யான கற்ற லென்றே

புறந்தள்ள நினைக்கிறது

என் மனம்.

கை யிண்டில் கைப்பேசியும்

மேசையில் லப்டொப்பும்

பல நேரம் மெனக்கெட்டும்

டயலொக்கும் எயார்டெலும்

மொபிடெலும் ஹட்சியும்

காசை கரைத்ததே தவிர

கவரேஜ் தரவில்லை.

கால் கடுக்க அவள் படும்

கஷ்டத்தை கண்டு

கனக்கிறது மனம்.
