BREATH

'Vaappaa 's breath has a distinct smell.

Several hundreds of cement-filled gunny bags

Pesticides , rat-poison

Chemical manure,iron cable, nail-box

Fruit-box

Paper-bundle

Spectacle-case

Box of medicine

The breath bearing it all and more

have sounds multifarious.

Breaths monotonously breathing

can never comprehend

breaths burden-laden and heaving.

When sleeping at night

with the heavy load unpacked

breathing would turn into a snore.

If it is not heard

holding a thread close to the nostrils

I would listen with bated breath.

மூச்சு

வாப்பாவின் மூச்சுக்காற்றிற்கு

தனியொரு வாசனையுண்டு

நானூறு,ஐநூறு சிமெண்டு மூட்டைகள்

பூச்சி மருந்து,எலிமருந்து,இரசாயன உரம்,

கம்பி,ஆணிப் பெட்டி,பழப் பெட்டி,

பேப்பர் கட்டு,கண்ணாடிப் பெட்டி,மருந்துப் பெட்டி

என சுமக்கும் மூச்சு விதவிதமான ஒலி கொண்டது.

வெறுமனே சுவாசிக்க மட்டுமே

பழக்கப்பட்ட மூச்சுகளால்

சுமை தூக்கும் மூச்சுகளை

அறியமுடியாது

பெரும் சுமையை இறக்கி

வைத்துவிட்டு இரவில் உறங்கும் மூச்சு

குறட்டையாக மாறும்

குறட்டை கேட்காமலிருந்தால்

மூக்கருகே சிறு நூலைவைத்துப் பார்ப்பேன்.
