SILENCE OF THE RIVER

From time immemorial till date

the river keeps flowing as a silent witness

Along the banks in equal measure the river of blood is also flowing

Rage, Anger

Malice

Incapacity

surging brimming and flowing from human hearts

the expression of which take shape in the form of

violence-filled sexual assaults fanatic acts annihilations wars oppressions

being staged

The River keeps flowing as a silent witness

As if having no part whatsoever in what happens all around

the daily prayers go on in the monasteries

with great pomp and show

The stench of the smoke spreading from the ruins afire

is not able to get inside

scaling the long towering compound walls

Day-in and day-out Poojaas are being performed

The weak wails and screams of those sliced and wounded in the streets

do not reach the inner halls of the Vihaaraa

The River keeps flowing as a silent witness.

In the resounding church-bells

the agonized sounds of the underdogs

are ever gone with the wind

With the river’s contour dispersed

as aborted fetus

lying all dark and sticky

Shrouding the moon

there stands the Screwpine forest.

*நதியின் மெளனம்*

அன்று முதல் இன்றுவரை நதி மெளன சாட்சியாக ஓடிக்கொண்டிருக்குறது

கரையோரங்களில் சரி சமமாக இரத்த ஆறும் ஓடிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறது

ஆத்திரம் ,கோபம் .

காழ்ப்புணர்ச்சி ,

இயலாமை பொங்கி வழியும் மனித மனங்களின் வெளிப் பாடாக வன்முறை தோய்ந்த

வன்பால் புணர்வுகள் வெறியாட்டங்கள் அழித்தொழில்கள் ,போர்கள் ,ஒடுக்குமுறைகள் அரங்கேற்றமாகின்றன

நதி மெளன சாட்சியாக ஓடிக்கொண்டிருக்கின்றது

நிகழ்வனவற்றில் தனக்கு ஏதும் சம்பந்தமில்லாதது போல மடாலயங்களில் தினப் பூசைகள் ஆரவாரங்களுடன் அரங்கேறிக்கொண்டிருக்கின்றன

நகரங்களில் எரியும் இடிபாடுகளின் புகையின் மணம் மடாலயங்களின் நெடிய சுவர்களை கடந்து உள் செல்ல முடியவில்லை

ஒவ்வொரு நாட்களும் பூஜைகள் நடந்து கொண்டு தான் இருக்கின்றன

தெருக்களில் வெட்டுப் பட்ட காயங்களில் அலறும் தீனக்குரல்கள் விகாரைகளின் உள் கூடங்களுக்கு எட்டுவதேயில்லை

நதி மெளன சாட்சியாக ஓடிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறது

நலிவுற்றோர்களின் வலி ஓசைகள்

மாதா கோயில்களின் மணி ஓசையில் கலந்து காற்றில் கரைந்தே போகின்றன

நதி கலைந்து கருகருவென

பிசுபிசுத்துக் கிடக்க நிலவை மறைத்து நிற்கும் தாழங்காடு
