THE HOLY RITUAL CALLED LIFE

Washed in tears

I have kept the carrot

for

My rabbit

Cluster of Coriander leaves

soaked in snow

I have plucked in the field

and brought for thee

A tale for the leaf

A tale for the branch

Grandma plucks and peels

Tales thousands

The winnower you use for plucking the

Moringa leaves

remains there barren

When the grasshopper that came

to pay its homage to thee

jerks its body

there sprinkle

Rose water.

Above you hovers

the Coral moth

to give away its

pleasant cool.

That which cleans the Banana flowers

are your words making fun of

The Holy Ritual called Life.

வாழ்வு எனும் புனித சடங்கு

கண்ணீரில்

கழுவி வைத்திருக்கிறேன்

கேரட்டை

எந்தன் முயலுக்காய்

பனியில் நனைந்த

கொத்தமல்லி பூங்கொத்து

வயலில் பறித்து வந்திருகிறேன்

உனக்காய்

இலைக்கு ஒரு கதை

கிளைக்கு ஒரு கதை

ஆயா ஆயும் கதைகள் ஆயிரம்

நீ முருங்கை கீரை

பறிக்கும் முறம்

வெறுமனே இருக்கிறது

உனக்கு அஞ்சலி

செலுத்துவதற்காய்

வந்த வெட்டுக்கிளி

உடலை சிலுப்பும் போது

பன்னிர் சிந்துகிறது

உனக்கு உயிர் தர

பவளந்தி பூச்சி

தன் குளுமையை

விட்டு தர வந்திருக்கிறது

வாழைப் பூக்களை

சுத்தம் செய்வது

வாழ்வு எனும் புனித சடங்கு பற்றி

நீ பேசும் கேலி
