1. LET A SMALL WINDOW

REMAIN OPEN

If you feel like hating or discarding someone

Please do so…

If the person is someone who loves you dearly

give some time.

Just like throwing the cool pebbles

collected joyously from the river

with water flowing thousands of years

into another more ancient one

throwing carefully all too deep

wherefrom none

could retrieve

throw softly, one by one_

remembrances.

After barricading with iron planks

don’t you fill up the cracks instantly

Let little droplets of water scatter

till they stop on their own.

Do’t bang shut all the doors.

Let a small window remain open.

Don’t keep pouring fire.

Suffice to have an ember

Let it rage and blaze

and turn into ash

Leave it as it is

in the Fire of Time

Not alighting as thunder

upon memory alive

and sabotaging it

Turning into torrential downpour

just dissolve it and go away.

Not making the other swoon and fall

with your silence uproarious

Tell what went wrong where and

part ways.

At the least

try showing this minimal compassion

as a parting gift to the person concerned.

For whatever it be

that person loves thee.

2. NOTHING SOMETHING

Though you don’t suffer for anything

You are suffering for something.

Though none can trouble you

Someone is troubling you.

Though none can deceive thee

You are being deceived daily.

Though you who want not to come

anywhere

Seeking thee come

all and more.

That you want to live in a world where

all expectations ceased to be

You lament to the covert expectations

surrounding thee.

You keep waiting for something that is nothing

to grab thee and fly high.

Grabbing thee and flying high

when in wilderness it tears thee

and pull out your intestine

stunned you return.

Cursing the heart that forces you

who wants to do nothing

into doing some damn thing

You sit and swing

in something sans anything

with inabilities of curtailing

memories springing.

நீ எதற்கும் சிரம்ப்படுவதில்லை என்றாலும்

எதற்கோ சிரம்ப்பட்டுக்கொண்டுதனிருக்கிறாய்

உன்னை யாரும்

தொந்தரவு செய்ய முடியாதென்றாலும்

யாரோ தொந்தரவு

செய்துகொண்டுதானிருக்கிறார்கள்

உன்னை யாரும்

ஏமாற்ற முடியாதென்றாலும்

நீ தினமும்

ஏமாந்துகொண்டுதானிருக்கிறாய்.

எங்கும் வரவிரும்பாத

உன்னைத்தேடி

எல்லாம் வந்துவிடுகின்றன

எதிர்பார்ப்புகள் தீர்ந்த உலகில்

வாழ விருப்பமென

சூழ்ந்து நிற்கும்

மறைமுக எதிர்பார்ப்புகளிடம்

புலம்புகிறாய்.

ஒன்றுமற்ற ஒன்று

கவ்விப் பறக்காதா என

காத்திருக்கிறாய்

கவ்விப் பறந்து

அத்துவானத்தில் வைத்து

குதறி குடல் இழுக்கையில்

பதறி திரும்பிவிடுகிறாய்

ஒன்றும் செய்ய விரும்பாத உன்னை

ஏதோ செய்து தொலைக்கும்படியான

நெஞ்சின் நிர்பந்தம் சபித்து

உட்கார்ந்து ஊஞ்சலாடுகிறாய்

ஒன்றுமற்ற ஒன்றில்

ஞாபகங்களை அமர்த்தமுடியாத

இயலாமைகளுடன்.
