Water is Land’s Heart

Root, the nerves of Land

Trees are Land’s battalions

Sea is Land’s companion

Air, Land’s breath

Volcanoes, Land’s fever

Valleys, ditches of Land

Mountains, land’s protuberances

The distant Moon

Is Land’s daughter

Stars, Daughter’s friends

Clouds are land’s lovers

Those flying across the sky

Near yet far

Almost touching but not quite

Earth’s droplets of sweats

are but its inhabitants.

Sun, the Father of Land

without burning it

keeps giving us the required

eat

from the reuired distance, in

act.

She, the Land

wipes off and casts away the sweat-droplets

every now and then

And, they are our Deaths. Amen.

நீர் என்பது

நிலத்தின் உள்ளம்

வேர் என்பது

நிலத்தின் நரம்பு

மரங்களே நிலத்தின் படைகள்

கடல் என்பது

பூமியின் தோழன்

காற்று என்பது

நிலத்தின் மூச்சு

எரிமலைகள் நிலத்தின் காய்ச்சல்

பள்ளத்தாக்குகள் நிலத்தின் குழிகள்

மலைகள் நிலத்தின் புடைப்புகள்

தூரத்தில் இருக்கும் நிலா

நிலத்தின் மகள்

நட்சத்திரங்கள்

மகளின் தோழிகள்

மேகங்கள் பூமியின் காதலர்கள்

தொட்டும் தொடாமலும்

பட்டும் படாமலும்

வான் வீதியில் பறந்து செல்வன

பூமியின் மக்கள்

நிலத்தின் வியர்வைத்துளிகள்

சூரியனோ நிலத்தின் தந்தை

நிலத்தை சுட்டுவிடாமல் தேவையான வெப்பத்தை

தேவையான தூரத்திலிருந்து தந்து கொண்டேயிருக்கிறான்

வியர்வைத்துளிகளை அவ்வப்போது நிலமகள்

துடைத்து எறிகிறாள்

அவையே நம் மரணங்கள்
