1.HOSPITAL NOTES

1

The tears rolling down the eyes of the doctor

forsaking the patient after hours of struggle

have the hue of God’s blood

Between the room waiting to see daughter’s newborn

and the delivery room

have to cross the distance of a generation

Confirming the first pregnancy

and coming out of the doctor’s room

the wife’s eyes bear the poem unwritten

which the husband begins to read.

For getting inside

and going out

separate entrances.

No great distance between

Labour Room

and Mortuary.

He who keeps listening to his manager’s abusive words

Jerked by the voice of nurse saying “Sir, you are next”

In that split-second turning oblivious of everything

The medical rep sells his own self.

Behind the language of a doctor’s prescription which is legible to a particular pharmacist alone

there stands a medical representative.

மருத்துவமனைக் குறிப்புகள்:

1. நீண்ட போராட்டத்திற்குப் பிறகு

நோயாளியை கைவிடும் மருத்துவரின் கண்களிலிருந்து கசியும் கண்ணீருக்கு

கடவுளுடைய குருதியின் நிறம்.

2.

மகளுக்கு பிறந்த குழந்தையை பார்க்க

காத்திருக்கும் அறையிலிருந்து பிரசவ அறைக்கு இடையே

ஒரு தலைமுறைக்கான தூரத்தை கடக்க வேண்டியதிருக்கிறது.

முதல் கர்ப்பத்தை உறுதி செய்துவிட்டு

மருத்துவருடைய அறையிலிருந்து வெளியே வரும் மனைவியின் கண்களில் குடியிருக்கும் எழுதப்படாத கவிதையை வாசிக்கத் துவங்குகிறான் கணவன்

வெளியேறவும் வெவ்வேறு வாசல்கள்

5. பிரசவ அறைக்கும்

பிணவறைக்கும்

வெகுதூரமில்லை'.

தொலைபேசியில் மேலாளரின் வசைக்கு செவி கொடுத்த படியிருப்பவனை

சார் அடுத்து நீங்க தான் என செவிலின் குரல் உசுப்ப

கிடைக்கும் மீச்சிறு நொடிக்குள் யாவற்றையும் மறந்து தன்னையே விற்கிறான் மருத்துவப் பிரதிநிதி

குறிப்பிட்ட மருந்தாளுனருக்கு மட்டுமே புரியும் படி எழுதும் மருத்துவரின் பரிந்துரை மொழிக்குப் பின்னால் ஒரு மருத்துவப் பிரதிநிதி இருக்கிறான்

The Temple Car gone around

should return to its shed

Was it because those who came and went pulled

that it had returned to its place

As the rightful ones too touched it

It moved – isn’t it

One and all do

operate thus

Riddles beyond the reach of Science

are always there

Though God is One

Is the One seated in the sanctum sanctorum

And the One going on a procession

one and the same?

One and all has time appropriate

Though somewhat more or less

Take the course of water

If more

Tears of Joy

Less means

Go dip your head in the river and return

Water knows

The art of dissolving everything and

escaping one and all

and so running on

Be water

Or else

Be Watery

ஊர் சுற்றப் போன

தேர் நிலை வந்தாக வேண்டும்

வந்தவரும் சென்றவரும் இழுத்ததாலா நிலைதிரும்பியது

பாத்தியப்பட்டவர்களும்

உரிமையானவர்களும் கைவைத்ததால் தானே நகர்ந்தது.

அததது அப்படித்தான்

அறிவியலுக்கு அப்பாற்பட்ட புதிர்கள் உண்டு எப்போதும்

என்னதான் தெய்வம் ஒன்றென்றாலும்

கருவறையில் வீற்றிருப்பதும்

உற்சவராக உலாப்போவதும் ஒரே மனநிலையில் தானா

அததற்கு ஒரு காலம் உண்டு

கூடக்குறைய இருந்தாலும்

நீர் வழிப் படு

நிறைந்தால் ஆனந்தக் கண்ணீர்

குறைந்தால்

ஆற்றில் தலைமூழ்கி வா

தண்ணீருக்குத் தெரியும்

அத்தனையையும் கரைத்து யாருக்கும் அகப்படாமல் ஓடும் சூட்சுமம்

தண்ணீராக இரு

அல்லாது போனால்

நீர்மையோடிரு...
