RIVER’S VOICE
Where goes this river?
I know not
For I am in the river.
Can’t dip my feet the second time
in the water
For the river halts not ever.
I don’t understand?
Nothing at all to comprehend
Suffice to float and keep moving
Suffice indeed.
Isn’t there any destination for the river?
That is the horror of an imagination
The river is always closeby.
How is that you can speak so incomprehensibl?
What I hear I repeat to thee parrot-like
For
I know nothing.
From whom you hear?””
From the river
Can the river speak? Does it speak?
Of course, it keeps speaking always
But as we keep speaking for ever
the river’s voice reaches us not; never.
I want to listen
Will you please teach me how to listen to it?
Very well.
If you want you can do so.
Burn your queries
Upon the river with answers widespread on it
just be seated.
Hearing queries from answers
is but just a habit.
Enough to you open your eyes and see
For
the river’s voice
can be heard by the eyes alone
நதியின்_குரல்
இந்த நதி எங்கே செல்கிறது?
எனக்கு தெரியாது
ஏனெனில்
நான் நதியில் இருக்கிறேன்.
இரண்டாம் முறை காலை
நனைக்க முடியாது
ஏனெனில்
நதி தங்குவதில்லை .
எனக்கு புரியவில்லையே?
புரிந்து கொள்ள எதுவுமில்லை.
மிதப்பதும் நகர்ந்தபடி இருப்பதும்
மிகப் போதுமானது.
நதிக்கு இலக்கு எதுவும் இல்லையா?
ஒரு கற்பனையின் விபரீதம் அது.
நதி எப்போதும் சமீபமாயிருக்கிறது.
எப்படி உன்னால் இப்படி
புரியாதபடி பேச முடிகிறது?
கேட்பதைதான் கிளிப்பி்ள்ளைபோல்
உன்னிடம் சொல்கிறேன் நான்.
ஏனெனில்
எனக்கு எதுவும் தெரியாது.
யாரிடமிருந்து கேட்கிறாய் நீ?
நதியிடமிருந்து...
நதி பேசுமா?!! பேசுகிறதா?!!
ஆமாம் ஆமாம்
நதி எப்போதும் பேசிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது.
சதாசர்வமும்
நாம் பேசிக் கொண்டேயிருப்பதால்
நதியின் குரலை கேட்பதில்லை.
எனக்கும் கேட்பதற்கு ஆவலாயுள்ளது
கேட்பது எப்படி என சொல்லி தருகிறாயா?
மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சி.
கேட்பதற்கு விரும்பினால் கேட்கலாம்.
உனது கேள்விகளை எரித்து விடு.
பதில்கள் பரவிக் கிடக்கும் நதிமீது
வெறுமனே அமர்ந்து கொள்.
பதில்களிடமிருந்து கேள்விகளை கேட்பது
ஒரு பழக்கம் மட்டுமே.
கண்களை திறந்து பார்த்தால் போதும்.
ஏனெனில்
நதியின் குரலை
கண்களால்தான் கேட்க முடியும்.
