SING THE GLORY OF

MYRIAD SPECIES

In your dream have you seen the food-items of

green pigeon

If yes, draw the inner circle of its throat and show me.

The interior stem of the ‘Malaikiluvai’ tree

The colour of the Neerinji tree’s fruit

The beauty of Porcupine’s single strand of hair

The udder of the blossom ‘Sirukurinji’

The figure of an alien world growing upon the rock-skin

The tongue of white snake

The radiance of Jothi tree

The skin of Pulichaanthandu’

Draw and show me the root of Kalthaamarai creeper

I keep trying to sketch forms many which are beyond me

Bizaare dreams aplenty visit me

In your dreams too

the smell of cat-milk might

come

Tiger’s stripes might seep and turn into a stream.

Touched by the elephant’s nail the dream might be torn.

Having the globe as a paddy grain

Folding it in the palm and woken up

Scenes undreamt of

come to us more than dreams.

Have you imagined the magical mount

as your ladylove

If yes, hug tight the snow

and sing the glories of the world

Is the scent of our body

More fragrant than the scent of Eucalyptus tree

Is our love nobler that the heart of the mountain-pigeon

உங்கள் கனவில் பச்சைப் புறாவின்

உணவுகளைக் கண்டதுண்டா

ஆம் எனில் அதன் குரல்வளை உள்வட்டத்தை வரைந்து காட்டுங்கள்

மலைக்கிளுவை மரத்தின் உள்தண்டை

நீரிஞ்சி மரத்தின் பழ நிறத்தை

முள்ளம்பன்றியின் ஒருமுடி அழகை

சிறுகுறிஞ்சிப் பூவின் மடியை

பாறை மேனியில் வளரும் வேற்று உலக உருவத்தை

வெள்ளைப் பாம்பின் நாக்கை

ஜோதிமரத்தின் பிரகாசத்தை

புளிச்சாந் தண்டின் தோலை

கல்தாமரை கொடியின் வேரை வரைந்து காட்டுங்கள்

என்னால் முடியாத எவ்வளவோ வடிவங்களைத் தான்

எழுதி எழுதிப் பார்க்கிறேன்

நூதனமான பல கனவு வருவதுண்டு

உங்களுடைய கனவுகளில் கூட

பூனைப் பாலின் வாசம் தெரியலாம்

புலியின் உடல் கோடுகள் கசிந்து

நீரோடையாகலாம்

யானையின் கால் நகம்பட்டு கனவு

கிழிந்து விடலாம்

உலகை ஒரு நெல் விதையாய்

உள்ளங்கையில் மடக்கி விழிக்கலாம்

கனவிலும் காணாத சம்பவங்கள் தான்

கனவுகளை விட அதிகமாக நமக்கு வருகின்றன

மந்திர மலையை உங்கள் காதலியாக

நினைத்ததுண்டா

ஆம் எனில் பனியை அணைத்து

உலகின் உன்னதங்களைப் பாடுங்கள்

தைலமரத்தின் உடலை விடவா

நம் உடல்வாசனை கீர்த்தி பெற்றது

மலைப்புறாவின் மனதை விடவா

நமது அன்பு மாட்சிமை மிக்கது
