HE WHO IS WAITING FOR MONEY-POURING RAIN

There on the sky so high

a flower is coming down

swaying softly .

Along with it four butterflies.

All too suddenly a little girl soars from below,

winged and flying.

At the instant when the flower

and the little girl

come face to face

the butterflies go fluttering in pairs

in the opposite direction.

The readers who climb inside

where the poem comes to a close

go home

carrying the flower and the little girl.

Houses turn beautiful

Wounds get healed

“These good-for-nothing idiots”

Cursing thus

eyeing the sky

stands there still

in vain

He who is waiting for money-pouring rain

பணம் பெய்யும் மழைக்காக காத்திருப்பவன்

வானத்தில் ஒரு பூ

ஆடியாடி இறங்கி வந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறது.

அதனோடு

நான்கு வண்ணத்துப் பூச்சிகள்.

ஒரு சிறுமி கீழிருந்து

திடீரென்று சிறகுகளோடு பறக்கிறாள்.

பூவும், சிறுமியும் சந்திக்கிற கணத்தில்

சோடி சோடியாக

எதிர்த் திசையில் பறக்கின்றன

வண்ணத்துப் பூச்சிகள்.

கவிதை முடிகிற இடத்தில்

ஏறிக் கொள்கிற வாசகர்கள்

பூவையும், சிறுமியையும் ஏந்தியபடி

தம் வீடுகளுக்குச் செல்கிறார்கள்.

கவிதையால் அழகாகின்றன

இல்லங்கள்.

கவிதையால் அழகாகின்றன

இதயங்கள்.

கவிதையால் ஆறுகின்றன

காயங்கள்.

"வேலை வெட்டியற்ற பயல்கள் "

எனத் திட்டியபடி

இன்னும்

வானத்தையே பார்த்தபடி இருக்கிறான்.

பணம் பெய்யும் மழைக்காக காத்திருப்பவன்.
