Body with hand shrunk - there is

Head with brain not fully grown

there is

But is there a stomach

with hunger any the less

Are there eyes

where tears sprout

in lesser measure

Yet

close to tooth that would lie

in wait

for a chance to cut

the tongue since ages

stay alive; survive

Let’s face life head-on

and live lock stock and barrel

– come on.

கை சூம்பிய உடல் உண்டு

உயரம் குறைந்த கால் உண்டு

மூளை முழுதும் முளைக்காத சிரம் உண்டு

கம்மியாய் பசி வசிக்கும் வயிறுண்டா

பார்வை இல்லாவிட்டாலும்

கண்ணீர் குறைவாய் சுரக்கும் கண்ணுண்டா

ஆனாலும் அசந்தால் வெட்டும்

பல்லுக்கு பக்கத்தில்தான் நாக்கு

பலகாலம்

பிழைத்துக் கிடக்கிறது

வாழ்ந்து பார்த்துவிடலாம்

After Open Heart surgery’s term of confinement

is over

the Helium balloon moments

with nowhere to go

writhe and sway

After obtaining pardon

the earlier countenance

the plaster of paris hand

of the porcelain doll

Between the one

who escapes from the submarine

and the other who alights

holding on to parachute

with face burning all the way

a Kiwi bird is breaking its shell

to find release.

A thermometer mercury

Hope

so much

The Wait

as the air gap of a flask

Fondness and care

that the smile of a nurse

circulate

The hands of the clocks made to hang

outside the operation theatres

are made of snail’s sensors

For the fingers that feel the void of the

organ donated

So soft a night

is indeed too much

6 year old Naveena

practicing to move around with walker

after the heart surgery

go past

uttering the name of the one inside

and enquiring after his well-being.

தண்டனைக்காலம் முடிந்ததும்

போகும் இடம் ஏதுமற்ற

ஹீலியம் பலூன்கள் கணங்கள்

அலைவுறுகின்றன

மன்னிக்கப்பட்ட பிறகு

முன்பிருந்த முகம்

பீங்கான் பொம்மையின்

ப்ளாஸ்டர் ஆப் பாரீஸ் கரம்

நீர்மூழ்கிக் கப்பலில் இருந்து

தப்புகிறவனுக்கும்

பாராசூட்டைப் பற்றியபடி

முகமெரிய இறங்குகிறவனுக்கும்

நடுவில் ஒரு கிவிப் பறவை தன்

ஓடுடைத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது

வெளியேற

ஒரு தெர்மாமீட்டர் பாதரசம்

அவ்வளவு

நம்பிக்கை

ப்ளாஸ்க் இடைவெளியளவாய்

காத்திருப்பு

ஓர் செவிலியின் புன்னகை

படர்த்தும் அன்பு

அறுவை சிகிச்சை அரங்கு வெளியே

மாட்டப்பட்டிருக்கும் கடிகாரங்களின்

முட்கள் நத்தைகளின் உணரிகளால்

ஆனவை

தானமளித்த ஒரு பாகத்தின் வெற்றிடத்தை

தொட்டுணரும் விரலுக்கு

இவ்வளவு மிருதுவான இரவு

சாலமிகுத்துப் பெய்ததுதான்

இதய ரண சிகிச்சைக்குப் பின்

வாக்கரில் நடந்து பழகும்

6 வயது சிறுமி நவீனா

உள்ளே இருப்பவரின் பெயர் சொல்லி

நலம் விசாரித்துக் கடக்கிறாள்.

3. PEACOCK PLUMES

In the white stalk of the peacock feather

Air would enter and exit

The stem of the sunflower is

A little more concentrated.

The peacock feather can make predictions

to the Rain.

For the sunflower _

Sun coursing direction.

The lifespan of peacock plume that being non-being

tells auspicious omen

the Sun flower has not.

For Summer and Monsoon

your ‘Spring would be Forever’ solace and succor.

stands there with plumes spread all over.

கலாபம்

மயிலிறகின் வெண்தண்டில்

காற்றுப் புகுந்து வெளியேறும்

சூரியகாந்திப் பூவின் தண்டு கொஞ்சம்

அடர்த்தி

மயிலிறகுக்கு மழைக்கு சகுனம் சொல்ல

வாய்த்திருக்கிறது

மழையுண்டு பூக்கும்

சூரிய காந்திக்கு சூரியன்

செல்லும் திசை

இன்மையில் இருந்து நற்சகுனம்

சொல்லும் மயிலிறகின் ஆயுள்

வாய்க்கவில்லை சூரியகாந்திப் பூவிற்கு

கோடைக்கும் கார்காலத்திற்கும்

கலாபம் விரித்து நிற்கிறது

உன்

வசந்தம் நிலைக்கும் என்ற
