In the soft luminescence of early dawn

in front of me

God and Satan had a chance meeting

Shocked to the core seeing the two together

the cockroach

not knowing the way out

banging against the wall

broke one of its wings.

Perturbed a mosquito flying in

from somewhere

attempting to go into hiding

had fallen into my half-full tea-cup

on its back

Wonder what happened to the lizard

which was giving prophesying till then

Yet

Satan and God didn’t turn away from each other

Instead

They exchanged smiles

Felt happy for meeting thus

When foes happen to come face-to-face

without being at loggerheads

may be they would shake their hands thus.

I gave them equal shares in the tea I half drank

Today

I God and Satan

drank the same Tea.

eventually

while taking leave

both of them

placed their hands on my head

and blessed me…..

அதிகாலை முன் வெளிச்சத்தில்

எனக்கெதிரே

கடவுளும் சாத்தானும்

எதிர்பாராமல் சந்தித்துக்கொண்டார்கள்

கடவுளையும் சாத்தானும்

ஒரு சேர கண்ட அதிர்ச்சியில்

கரப்பான் பூச்சி

வெளியேறும் வழி தெரியாமல்

சுவரில் மோதி தன்னொரு சிறகை உடைத்துகொண்டது

பதட்டத்தில் எங்கிருந்தோ

பறந்துவந்த கொசுவொன்றும்

ஒளிந்துகொள்வதாக நினைத்து

நான் பாதி பருகிய டீக் கோப்பையில்

முதுகுப்புறமாய் வீழ்ந்துவிட்டது

அதுவரை பலன் சொல்லிக்கொண்டிருந்த

பல்லி என்னவானதோ தெரியவில்லை

ஆனாலும்

சாத்தானும் கடவுளும்

ஒருவருக்கொருவர்

முகம் திருப்பிக்கொள்ளவில்லை

மாறாக

புன்னகைத்துக்கொண்டார்கள்

இச்சந்திப்பிற்காக மகிழ்ந்துகொண்டார்கள்

எதிரிகள் சந்திக்க

நேர்ந்தால் சண்டையிட்டுக்கொள்ளாமல்

இவ்வாறுதான்

கைகுலுக்கிக்கொள்வார்கள் போலும்

நான் பாதி பருகிய

டீயில் அவர்களுக்கும்

அரைவாசி அரைவாசியாக

பருகக்கொடுத்தேன்

இன்று

நானும் கடவுளும் சாத்தானும்

ஒரே டீயைத்தான் பருகினோம்

ஈற்றில்

விடைபெறுகையில்

அவர்களிருவருமே

என் தலையில் கைவைத்து

ஆசிர்வதித்தார்கள்...
