VATHILAI PRABHA

 With the last leaf too dropping

Eve stood in the nude.

Even when the leaves were dropping down

one by one

Her body didn’t cringe.

Despite the destruction of forest

Despite the destruction of land

Forever her favourite was

the fruit of Eden Garden.

Again and again

She relished the fruits.

Again and again

leaves dropped.

Chuckling sarcastically

Satan began collecting the leaves

that had fallen all over the garden.

Now God created

a new Eden.

No leaves there

But fruits were available

for savouring.

Adam and Eve

relished tasty fruits

and rejoiced

with clothing.

கடைசி இலையும் உதிர

நிர்வாணமாய் நின்றாள் ஏவாள்.

ஒவ்வொரு இலையாய் உதிர்ந்தும்

கூசவில்லை தேகம்.

காடழிந்த போதும்

மண்ணழிந்த போதும்

அவளுக்குப் பிடித்தது

ஏதேன் தோட்டத்துப் பழம்தான்.

மீண்டும் மீண்டும்

பழங்களைப் புசித்தாள்.

மீண்டும் மீண்டும்

இலைகள் உதிர்ந்தன.

தோட்டமெங்கும் உதிர்ந்த இலைகளை

சாத்தான் கெக்களிப்பு செய்தபடி

சேகரிக்கத் தொடங்கினான்.

இப்போது கடவுள்

புதிய ஏதேனை உருவாக்கினார்.

அங்கே இலைகள் இல்லை

உண்டு ருசிக்க

கனிகள் இருந்தன.

ஆதாமும் ஏவாளும்

சுவைமிக்க கனிகளை

உண்டு களித்தனர்

ஆடைகளுடன்.

He who carried aloft a jungle

had a pencil in hand.

Going beyond Land

beyond Water….

He is drawing all over the walls of

a horizon.

Now birds are flying in the jungle

All over the jungle

fountains spring

The deer and jackals

drink water together

Tigers

never ambush

Again he carries the jungle.

There lies within reach

horizon anew.

ஒரு வனத்தைத்

தூக்கிச்சென்றவன் கையில்

பென்சில் இருந்தது.

நிலம் கடந்து

நீர் கடந்து….

ஒரு தொடுவானத்தின் சுவரெங்கும் வரைந்துகொண்டிருக்கிறான்.

இப்போது வனத்தில்

பறவைகள் பறக்கின்றன.

வனமெங்கும்

சுனைகள் ஊற்றெடுக்கின்றன

கவரிிமான்களும் நரிகளும்

ஒன்றாகவே நீர் அருந்துகின்றன

புலிகள்

ஒருபோதும் பதுங்கவில்லை

மீண்டும் வனத்தைத்

தூக்கிச் செல்கிறான்

தொட்டுவிடும் தூரத்தில் இருக்கிறது

பிறிதொரு தொடுவானம்.

வதிலைபிரபா
