TREACHERY

The cat coming in acute hunger

gets the smell of rat

With fingers as if writing poetry

it opens the window.

Inside an aged cough

on the throes of death

Unmindful of someone

dead and gone

suffice to find a lap,

the cat would lie there

Alas where can it get In this apartment

A lap-cradle tied between two thighs alive

Even the poets wander along for that

in the manner of a cat.

Cat’s hunger is an irrelevant theme for man

For the cat that knows not Hunt and deceit

a rat is needed utmost.

There is nothing as dead rat

in earth’s creation.

The treacherous cat alone has to create it.

It is not easy

None cares for the hungry cat

When there are rats

why should a cat starve

A lizard doesn’t beg for a fly

meant for it

When there are insects worms and flies

why should a lizard remain hungry

Cat that knows not deceit

is not a cat in the least.

That is a strange species

Hunger that knows no treason

wanders as a dark shadow.

A pair of eyes with treason unknown.

The eyes of a child yet-to-be born.

It sees the man

eyeing hungrily

Isn’t there food

Anywhere on the earth

It too sees Him

Who hungrily looks

It asks the dying one

in a beseeching tone

Isn’t there

Food anywhere on earth

_ So it beseeches the

hoarse cough dying

Before it could answer

the gullible dry cough

too

breathes its last.

சூது

பசியோடு வரும் பூனைக்கு எலியின் வாடை

கவிதையை எழுதுவது போன்ற

விரல்களால் அது

ஜன்னலை திறக்கிறது

உள்ளே

இறக்கும் தருவாயில்

வயதான இருமல்

மரணமடைந்தவரெனினும்

ஒரு மடி கிடைத்தால்

பூனை படுத்துக்கொள்ளும்

இந்த அடுக்ககத்தில்

உயிருள்ள இரு தொடைகளில்

கட்டப்பட்ட

ஒரு சிறு தொட்டில் மடிக்கு

அது எங்கு போகும்

கவிஞர்களே அதற்கு

பூனையாய் அலைகிறார்கள்

பூனைப் பசி

மனிதனுக்கு தேவையற்றதொரு

கருப்பொருள்

வேட்டையும் திருட்டுத்தனமும்

தெரியாத

பூனைக்கு ஓர் இறந்த எலி தேவைப்படுகிறது

இறந்த எலி என்ற ஒன்று

பூமியின் சிருஷ்டிப்பில்

இல்லை

சூது கொண்ட பூனைதான்

அதை படைக்க வேண்டும்

அது சுலபமல்ல

பசித்த பூனையை

யாரும் சீந்துவதில்லை

எலிகள் இருக்கும் போது

ஒரு பூனை

ஏன் பசித்திருக்க வேண்டும்

ஒரு பல்லி

தனக்கான ஈ யை

யாசிப்பதிலை

பூச்சி புழுக்கள் ஈக்கள் இருக்க

ஏன் பல்லி பசித்திருக்க வேண்டும்

சூது தெரியாத பூனை

பூனையே அல்ல

அது வினோத உயிர்

சூது தெரியாத பசி

கறுத்த நிழல் போல அலைகிறது

சூது தெரியாத இரண்டு கண்கள்

இன்னும் பிறக்காத

குழந்தையின் கண்கள்

பசியோடு

பார்க்கும் ஒருவனை

அதுவும் பார்க்கிறது

பூமியில்

எங்குமே உணவு இல்லையா

என்று

இறந்து கொண்டிருக்கும்

கரகரப்பான இருமலிடம்

கெஞ்சிக் கேட்கிறது

அதற்கு பதில் சொல்வதற்குள்

அந்த வயதான கைவிடப்பட்ட

சூது தெரியாத வறட்டு இருமலும்

தண்ணீர் கேட்டபடியே

பாவம்

இறந்து விடுகிறது
