KADANGANERIYAN ARIHARASUTHAN

Late at night seeing the doctor in Pettai he returns

carrying his daily routines in his backpack

Unmindful of the buzzing traffic of the ’Rettai paalam’

an insane person is sketching a portrait in the air

and conversing with it.

He who lives almost like a frog

Neither there

Nor here

tries to translate him in vain

and speeds past.

In the Sulochana Mudaliar bridge

that boy

Is still fighting for a rise in daily-wage.

The figure of Krishnaswamy who gave his support

for making Kanimozhi a Rajyasabha MP

surfacing

If crushed under the wheel

After everything has become opportunism

is there any value for conscience

_so asked a voice which I refuted

Reaching the nest in Vannarpettai

shared with a few of my friends

unable to eat and sleep

I set out towards the steps of the temple tank

where Peraachi amman is sitting.

Death is there having thrown his fishhook

in Thamirabarani

for ‘Madhi’

and lying in wait.

The water-level keeps rising and falling.

Between the two

feeling his land and the strength of his feet

he kicks away

this globe colossal...

பின்னிரவில் பேட்டையில் மருத்துவரைப் பார்த்துவிட்டு தன்னுடைய அன்றாடங்களை முதுகுப் பையில் சுமந்தபடி திரும்புகிறான்

அந்நேரத்திலும் ரெட்டைப் பாலத்தின் சுறுசுறுப்பான போக்குவரத்தை சட்டை செய்யாது

சித்த பிரமை பீடித்தவன் ஒருவன்

காற்றில் ஒரு சித்திரத்தை வரைந்து அதனோடு

உரையாடிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறான்

சற்றேறக்குறைய

அங்குமில்லாது

இங்குமில்லாது

தவளையைப் போல வாழ்பவன்

அவனை மொழிபெயர்க்க முயன்று தோற்று

வாகனத்தை விரட்டுகிறான்

சுலோச்சனா முதலியார் பாலத்தில்

அந்தப் பாலகன்

இன்றும் கூலி உயர்விற்காகப் போராடிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறான்

கனிமொழியை ராஜ்யசபா உறுப்பினராக்க

ஆதரவு கொடுத்த கிருஷ்ணசாமி யின் உருவம்

மேலெழ

அதனை சக்கரத்தில் நசுக்கினால்

எல்லாம் பிழைப்புவாதமென்றாகிப் போன பின்பு

மனசாட்சிக்கு என்ன மரியாதை எனக் கேட்ட குரலை மறுதலித்தேன்

சேக்காளிகளுடன் பகிர்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கும்

வண்ணார்பேட்டை யில் அமைந்திருக்கும் கூடடைந்து

உணவும் கொள்ளாமல்

நித்திரையும் வராமல் போக

பேராச்சியம்மன் அமர்ந்திருக்கும் படித்துறை

நோக்கிப் போகிறேன்

காலன் தன் தூண்டிலை

தாமிரபரணியில்

மதிக்காக வீசிவிட்டு

காத்திருக்கிறான்

ஏறி

இறங்குவதாக இருக்கிறது

நீர் மட்டம்

வளர்வதும்

தேய்வதுமாக நிலவு

உண்மை

இரண்டுக்கும் இடையில்

தன் நிலத்தையும்

பாதங்களின் பலத்தையும்

உணர்ந்தவன்

உதைத்துத் தள்ளுகிறான்
