Just as seeing an elephant across a narrow street

most unexpectedly

and growing terror-stricken

At least two hours to go for the early night to commence

As if straightaway it has begun

Someone knocks at the door. Could it be some familiar hands

As opening the very wall before opening the door

being excitement-driven.

As for observing and drawing the flying butterfly

both flying and drawing one should excel in

As the rain that keeps watching me

through the glass window closed from within

I spoke to he walking along with sagging wings

just this and nothing more:

Have you read my five lines written earlier

Or will read them at least hereafter

குறுகலான வீதியின் குறுக்கே எதிர்பாராமல் ஒரு

யானையைப் பார்த்து பயந்தது போல

முன்னிரவு துவங்க இன்னும் இரண்டு நாழிகையாவது

நகர வேண்டும். அது இப்போதே துவங்கினது போல

யாரோ கதவைத் தட்டுகிறார்கள். தெரிந்த கைகளாக இருக்குமோ

ஆர்வத்தில் கதவைத் திறக்கு முன்

சுவற்றையே திறந்தது போல

பறந்துகொண்டே யிருக்கும் வண்ணத்துப்பூவைப்

பார்த்து வரைய பறக்கவும் வரையவும் தெரிந்திருக்கணும் போல

மூடின கண்ணாடி சன்னலின் வழியே என்னையே

பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கும் மழை போல

தளர்ந்த சிறகுகளோடு நடந்துபோய்க்

கொண்டிருந்தவரிடம் சொன்னேன் முந்தின என் ஐந்து

வரிகளைப்படித்திருக்கிறீர்களா இனியாவது படிப்பீர்களா

என்றுதான்.
