ON READING MY OWN POEM….
Leaving me here
Someone is strolling
On the other side of my Night.
in all the places i reside
he wanders
despite not being there in fact
it is as if two persons are there
causing unrest
looking at he feigning to sleep
where at all I am to sleep?
Outside the window
He doesn’t relish
He withdraws from there
He who pretends to follow me
Is writing the next chapter of my night
Afresh
He is not alike me
Yet everything happens in that fashion
You call him by my name
For all his actions
You approve and reprove me
your reaction to him
is imposed on my head
Further he has my forename
I am ‘being’ by virtue of someone non-being.
It might be me who has penned the poem
Still I shouldn’t have read it.
Please don’t read verse your own
as I have done
Or, while writing
don’t leave spaces between words
It is in those spaces
the ghosts that twist and turn us
reside
In order to drive away those phantoms
we would have to sacrifice readers _
some of them.

நான் எழுதிய கவிதையை நானே வாசித்த போது
0000000
என்னை விட்டுவிட்டு
எனது இரவின் மறு பகுதிக்குள்
யாரோ ஒருவர் நடமாடிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்
நான் வசிக்கும் இடங்களிலெல்லாம்
அவர் பயணிக்கிறார்
உண்மையில் அவர் அங்கு இல்லாதபோதும்
என்னோடு சேர்த்து
இரண்டுபேர் இருப்பதுபோல்
ஒரே தொந்தரவாக இருக்கிறது
உறங்குவதுபோல் பாசாங்கு செய்யும்
அவரைப் பார்த்துக்கொண்டு
நான் எந்த இடத்தில் உறங்குவது
ஜன்னலுக்கு வெளியே
அவர் ரசிப்பதில்லை
அதிலிருந்து பின் வாங்கிக்கொள்கிறார்
என்னைப் பின்பற்றுவதுபோல்
பாசாங்கு செய்யும் அவர்
எனது இரவின் மறு அத்தியாயத்தை
புதிதாக எழுதிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறார்
எனக்கு சமமானவர் இல்லை
இருந்தும்,அதுபோலவே
எல்லாம் நடந்து கொண்டிருக்கின்றன
நீங்கள் அவரை
எனது பெயரால் அழைக்கிறீர்கள்
அவரின் நடவடிக்கைகளுக்காக
என்னை பாராட்டவும்,விமர்சிக்கவும்
செய்கிறீர்கள்
அவருக்கான உங்கள் எதிர் நடவடிக்கை
என் தலைமீது சுமத்தப்படுகிறது
மேலும் அவர் எனது பெயரை
சூட்டியிருக்கிறார்
இல்லாத ஒருவரின் பொருட்டால்
நான் இருந்துகொண்டிருக்கிறேன்
கவிதையை எழுதியது நானாக இருக்கலாம்
எனினும்,நான் அதை வாசித்திருக்கக்கூடாது
என்னைப்போல நீங்களும்
உங்கள் கவிதையை வாசித்துவிடவேண்டாம்
அல்லது, எழுதும்போது சொற்களுக்கிடையில்
இடைவெளிகள் வைக்கவேண்டாம்
அந்த இடைவெளிகளில்தான்
நம்மை அலைக்கழிக்கும்
பேய்கள் வசிக்கின்றன
அந்தப் பேய்களை ஓட்ட
நாம் சில வாசகர்களை
பலியிட வேண்டியிருக்கும்
