With Truths to be told to thee

There stands a lad

Since long

With truths that could be told to thee

There comes all along

An elderly woman

With Truths that can never be told to thee

For many thousand eras

Stays there with thee

A She.

With Truths that should be told to thee

A poor little girl

has come seeking thee.

With Truths inexhaustible telling thee

Tired of keeping awake all night

There sleeps a God closing its eyes

Feeling fatigued with Truths told to thee

Over and over again

Not being able to forsake them

Nor taking them along

There remains standing in vain

a Being since long.

உண்மைகளோடு

நீண்ட நேரமாகக்

காத்திருக்கிறான்

ஒரு சிறுவன்

உங்களிடம் சொல்லக் கூடிய உண்மைகளோடு

வழி நெடுக வருகிறாள்

ஒரு முதிய பெண்

உங்களிடம் சொல்ல முடியாத

உண்மைகளோடு

பல்லாயிரம் யுகமாய்

உங்களுடனேயே இருக்கிறாள்

ஒருத்தி

உங்களிடம் சொல்லியே தீர வேண்டிய

உண்மைகளோடு

உங்களைத் தேடி வந்திருக்கிறாள்

ஒரு ஏழைச் சிறுமி

உங்களிடம் சொல்லித் தீராத உண்மைகளோடு

இரவிரவாக விழித்திருந்த களைப்பில்

கண்மூடித் துயில்கிறதொரு தெய்வம்.

உங்களிடம் சொல்லிச் சொல்லிக் களைத்த உண்மைகளை

விட்டுச் செல்லவும் முடியாமல்

எடுத்துச் செல்லவும் முடியாமல்

நின்றுகொண்டேயிருக்கிறது

பல்லாயிரமாண்டுகளாக ஓருயிர்.

Consciousness regained

She enquired:

Where stopped our kiss?

Who set to motion the word paused half way

_ You or Me?

What did you do with the Tea

drunk perennially?

Where is the honey-drop of our flowers?

When did the season of your love

come to a close?

The rainbow shone at a corner of your smile

Is it still alive ?

The song of the koel heard so near us

is it still going on

The teardrops fallen when you hugged

is its moisture still retained?

The elderly lady who blessed us

When did she exit?

Will you remind me my name

Holding her hand

I placed it on my bosom

All lights were on; wholesome.

நினைவு திரும்பியவள் கேட்டாள்

எந்த இடத்தில் நம் முத்தம் நின்றது?

பாதியில் நின்ற சொல்லின் மீதியை இயக்கியது நீயா நானா?

பருகி முடியாத தேநீரை என்ன செய்தாய்?

நமது மலர்களின் தேன்துளி எங்கேயுண்டு?

உன் காதலின் பருவம் எப்போது முடிந்தது?

உன் புன்னகையின் ஓரத்தில் ஒளிர்ந்த வானவில் இன்னும் தீராதிருக்கிறதா?

நமக்கு அருகில் கூவிக்கொண்டிருந்த குயிற்பாட்டு

இப்போதும் கேட்கிறதா?

நீ அணைத்தபோது சிந்திய கண்ணீர்த்துளி இன்னும் காயாதிருக்கிறதா?

நம்மிருவரையும் ஆசீர்வதித்த முதிய பெண்

எப்போது சென்றாள்?

என்னுடைய பெயரை ஞாபகமூட்டுவாயா?

அவளுடைய கையைப் பற்றி

நெஞ்சில் வைத்தேன்

எல்லா விளக்குகளும் ஒளிர்ந்தன
