Mother couldn’t teach us to stand-up and fight

Listening to father’s political discourses

She remained huddled inside those tales.

When elder sister was abused at the police station

asking her to keep quiet

she made her bathe in hot water

and sent her back to school

Younger brother went out to play ‘kittipull’

Even after so much delay is yet to return

Elder brother

Is still in the list of missing persons.

Dharman won the elections

We applauded and felt joyous

Sadly forgetting the fact

that Dharmam has taken a back seat.

Even when the lad in the front portion

conveyed his anger by throwing a stone

Mother had us locked up inside the house

saying ‘Be quiet. Do nothing.’

But

when I am enraged

when and how am I to show it?

The stone lay sleeping

in the courtyard

for me…..

போராடச் சொல்லி

அம்மாவால்

சொல்லித் தர முடியவில்லை.

அரசியல் சொன்ன அப்பாவால்

அக்

கதைகளுக்குள்ளேயே

முடங்கிப்போனார்.

காவல் நிலையத்தில்

களங்கப்பட்ட

அக்காளை

மௌனமாக இரு என்று

வெந்நீரில்

குளிக்கவைத்து

பாடசாலைக்கு

மீண்டும் அனுப்பினாள்.

கிட்டிபுல் விளையாடப் போன

தம்பியின் வருகை

இன்னும் தாமதமாகியே போனது.

அண்ணன்

இன்னும் காணாமல் போனோர்

பட்டியலில் தான்..

தருமன் தேர்தலில் வென்றான்

கைதட்டி மகிழ்ந்தோம்.

தர்மம்

தோற்றதை

மறந்து போய் நிற்கிறோம்.

முன்

வீட்டுச் சிறுவன்

அவர்களுக்கு

கல்லெறிந்து கோபத்தை வெளிக்காட்டுகையில் கூட

அம்மா

வீட்டுக்குள் எம்மை

அடைத்து வைத்தாள்.

எதுவும் வேண்டாம்

சும்மா இரு என்று சொன்னாள்.

கோபம் வருகையில்

எப்போது என் கோபத்தைக் காட்டுவது?

கல்

தூங்கிக் கிடந்தது
