THE ROOSTER THAT WENT MISSING

Many years ago

a rooster in the house

went missing.

Despite intense search

day-in and day-out

The rooster was nowhere to be found.

For searching the whereabouts of the rooster

I established various organizations.

On international platforms

I talked about the loss of the rooster

giving reasons and justifications.

Those there washed it thoroughly and rinsed it

and hung it for drying on the dais itself.

Disgusted with everything

Leaving the doors and windows

of my household open

I waited for the missing rooster’s arrival.

Today is Full Moon day.

Entering inside through the holes in the roof-plate

It informed me of the comeback of the lost rooster.

Hastening towards the entrance I looked around.

The same rooster of mine that went ‘missing’

It is my majestic rooster alright.

But, poor rooster,

It clung to me crying its heart out

shrinking in shame and sorrow utmost

beseeching me to strangle it

by way of mercy-killing.

தொலைந்து போன சேவல்.

பல வருடங்களுக்கு முன்

வீட்டிலிருந்து சேவலொன்று

காணாமல் போனது.

ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் எங்கு தேடியும் சேவல் கிடைக்கவில்லை.

சேவலை தேட

பல்வேறு அமைப்புகளை உருவாக்கினேன்.

சேவல் காணாமல்போனது குறித்து உலக மேடைகளில்

நியாயங்களை ஒப்புவித்தேன்..

அவர்கள் அதனை அலசி உலர வைத்து மேடைகளிலேயே காயப்போட்டனர்.

எல்லாம் வெறுத்து

என் வீட்டு கதவுகளையும் யன்னல்களையும்

திறந்து வைத்து

தொலைந்துப்போன சேவலின் வருகைக்காக காத்திருந்தேன்..

இன்று பூரணை.

முழு நிலவு

கூரைத்தகடுத்துவாரங்களினூடே

உள் நுழைந்து

காணாமல் போன சேவலின் வருகை குறித்த செய்தியை கூறியது.

நான் விரைந்து வாசலில் தேடுகிறேன்..

அது எனது தொலைந்த சேவல்தான்.

அது எனது கம்பீரமான சேவல்தான்.

பாவம் அது

நாணிக்கோணி தன்னை

கழுத்தை நெறித்து கருணைக்கொலை செய்யும்படி என்னை கட்டிக் கதறியது.
