As one end of a thin thread

the first line of a poem

peeps and laughs.

When I too glance at it

it makes me hold its tip and

insert it into the needle-hole.

Following the trail of the thread

as I walk along

stitching it intricately braided

In the blend of hues and shades

It swells into a flowery woodland.

மெல்லிய நூலின் முனையாகக்

கவிதையின் முதல் வரி

எட்டிப் பார்த்துச் சிரிக்கிறது.

நானும் அதைப் பார்த்ததும்

அதன் நுனியைப் பற்றி

ஊசியில் கோர்க்கச் செய்கிறது.

நூல் போகும் வழியில்

நானும் நடக்கையில்

பின்னலாகத் தைத்து

வண்ணங்களின் கோர்வையில்

பூக்காடாய் விரிகிறது.
