River

Pool Pond Lake Sea

- so

plunging into waters

and probing

Oh, how so much of prey

can they have in every way

Yet why do these foolish fishes

ever are lured by the worm

writhing in the hook

and approach it to have a bite of it?

Just as any sane person

I too have pondered over it

and turned confusion-confounded,

to say the least

till the time I met those

minute dark eyes

having a calm and depth

that go beyond

questions that turn you ill at ease

and answers that provide peace.

தேரான் தெளிவு

ஆறு,

குளம்,குட்டை,

ஏரி,கடல்

என்று

நீரில் மூழ்கித்

தேடினால்,

எவ்வளவு இரை

எங்கெல்லாம் கிடைக்கும்!

இருந்தும்

இம் முட்டாள் மீன்கள்

ஏன்

எப்போதும்,

தூண்டில் முள்ளில்

துவளும் புழுவினையே

நாடி வந்து

கடிக்கின்றன?

புத்திசுவாதீனமுள்ள

ஒருவனைப் போலவே

நாளும் யோசித்து

நானும் குழம்பியிருக்கிறேன்;

அலைகழிக்கும் கேள்விகளுக்கும்

ஆறுதல் தரும் பதில்களுக்கும்

அப்பாற்பட்டதொரு

அமைதியும்

ஆழமும் கொண்ட

அச் சிறிய கரிய விழிகளை

நேரிட்டுப் பார்க்கும் மட்டும்.
