A POEM BY
SUGANYA GNANASOORY
being hauled into the sea
In the flooding river of Time
we have been swept away
and have arrived here
Wonder why but the dignity and grandeur
assigned to the flowering of a Kurinji blossom
is missing in the case of Nerunji flowering
On the day when dipping into the sea and
climbing ashore
Have we lost our identity and authority ?
Cursing the callous Time
whereby
we are being denied of the freedom
that a wild flower has to bloom
Two pebbles entwined copulating
and new pebbles came to be
In the government records
with the refugee stamp
christening takes place
as a journey interminable.
