THE SECOND READER

Poetry is the perfect place for pouring or dropping sorrows
_ so Imagines the Second Reader.
Having already imagined it
I was sharing my failures with Poetry,
reclining.
Most of those who go to meet Poetry
have always retuned fully recovered
_Thus a sound comes from the middle line
of the poem.
The second reader
having full faith
jumps into the heart of hearts of the poem.
Then he realizes that Poetry alone knows
the magical balm
that could heals wounds unbearable.
Also, he receives training for going to the other world.
Finally when he completes reading the poem
He turns to the right and looks.
Some who had already got into it
learnt life and are leaving.

இரண்டாம் வாசகன்

துயரங்களை வந்து கொட்டுவதற்கு அல்லது போடுவதற்கு
பொருத்தமான ஒரு இடம்
கவிதை என்பதாக
இரண்டாம் வாசகன்
கற்பனை செய்கிறான்.
நான் ஏற்கனவே
கற்பனை செய்து
கவிதையிடம் தோல்விகளை சொல்லி
இளைப்பாறிக் கொண்டிருந்தேன்.
கவிதையை சந்தித்துச் செல்லும்
அனேகமானோர்
குணமடையாமல்
திரும்பியதேயில்லை என
கவிதையின் நடு வரியிலிருந்து
சத்தம் வருகிறது
இரண்டாம் வாசகன்
முழு நம்பிக்கை கொண்டு
கவிதையின் ஆழ் மனதுக்குள் குதிக்கிறான்.
பின்பு காயங்களுக்கு தடவும்
வசியமருந்து
கவிதைக்குத்தான் தெரியுமென
உணர்கிறான்.
இன்னொரு உலகத்தை அடைவதற்கான பயிற்சியையும் பெறுகிறான்.
இறுதியாக அவன்
கவிதையை வாசித்து முடிக்கும் போது
வலது பக்கம் திரும்பிப் பார்க்கிறான்
ஏற்கனவே நுழைந்த சிலர்
வாழ்க்கையை கற்றுக் கொண்டு வெளியேறிக் கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.
