Eventually I believe in thee

With the lifeless roots of the uprooted tree

along the roadside bearing witness

As the shadow of the tree

that would never ever sprout branches

As the drool of the birds that alighted there

As the residual primal root of the tree

remaining deep in the drain to be dug tomorrow

As a handful of sand

obstinately sticking at the bottom

As an axe landing upon the hope and belief

of a great grand tree

that can’t believe any other

In the end I believe in none

but you alone. •

இறுதியாக உன்னை நம்புகிறேன்.

நெடுஞ்சாலையின் ஓரத்தில் வெட்டிசாய்க்கப்பட்ட மரங்களின் உயிரற்ற வேரின் சாட்சியாகவும்

இனி ஒருபோதும் கிளைவிடாத

அம்மரத்தின் நிழலாகவும்

அங்கே வந்தமர்ந்த பறவைகளின் எச்சிலாகவும்

நாளை தோண்டப்படும்

பாதாள சாக்கடையின் ஆழத்தில் கொஞ்சம் மிச்சமிருக்கும் அம்மரத்தின் ஆணிவேராகவும்

அதனடியில் பிடிவாதமாக பற்றிக்கொண்டிருக்கும் ஒருபிடி மண்ணாகவும்

வேறுயாரையும் நம்பமுடியாத ஒருபெருமரத்தின் நம்பிக்கையில் ஒரு கோடாரி வீழ்ந்ததைப்போல்

இறுதியாக உன்னைமட்டுமே

நம்புகிறேன்.
