THE RAGING FLAMES OF TEARS

The tears of the wife of he who died

waiting in the Petrol queue

engulfed his cabin

It was in blue colour

Then turning red it started burning

Her locks of hair that she had set free

turned into noose around the neck

The king who woke up screaming

was sweating profusely

despite being in AC set to 21.

The thought of the raging flames of tears

terrorized him ..

Recently his prime soothsayer had said

that he had a water-borne life-threat.

Since then he had studiously avoided

the swimming pool

Stopped going on a pleasure trip

in his luxury yacht.

Even the drinking water

He carefully measured and gulped.

Today this Teary Dream**

Isn’t Dream also but water.

The great emperor

All- powerful

Royal

Resplendent

Shuddered at the sight of Death

Standing straight in front

The tears of the wife of he

who one day

unable to buy milk-powder for his child

committed suicide

The tears of the kith and clan

of those who went missing in the war-zone

The tears of the younger sister

who wailed being shot at

by someone she knew not…

All have collected into a sea

and surrounding his cabin

He imagined.

Tears are but mere salt-water… what can it do…

He called the one

A researcher in Linguistics

and asked him to interpret tears

And the latter began:

Tears denote mercy

Tears denote sympathy

Tears denote the spring of love eternal

Tears of love are but the elixir of salt

But

At times tears are but terrible curse

A cruel destiny

A sin that cannot be get rid of

in successive births

A hapless woman’s tears

would wash away

Wealth State peace fame

Everything

Ttrning them into nothing..

To he who rose crying

Oh, Buddha, my savior

The soothsayer recited the Kural couplet.

" அல்லற்பட்டு ஆற்றாது அழுத கண்ணீர் செல்வத்தை தேய்க்கும் படை”

translating it into Sinhalese

‘For the day dated Nine to dawn

Two more hours remained………..

கண்ணீர் நெருப்பு

பெட்ரோல் வரிசையில் காத்திருந்து

இறந்தவனின் மனைவி அழுத கண்ணீர்

அவன் அறையை சூழ்ந்தது

அது நீல நிறமாய் இருந்தது

பின் சிவப்பாகி எரியத் தொடங்கியது

அவள் விரித்த கூந்தல் கழுத்தை சுற்றி இறுக்கியது

கத்திக்கொண்டு தூக்கம் கலைந்த அரசனுக்கு

இருபத்தொன்றில் குளிரூட்டி வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தும்

உடல் வெள்ளமாய் வியர்த்தது.

அந்தக் கண்ணீர் நெருப்பை நினைக்க .

அவனுக்கு பயமாக இருந்தது

அண்மையில் அவனது ஆஸ்தான சோதிடக்காரி அவனுக்கு தண்ணீரில் கண்டம் என்றாள்..

அதிலிருந்து நீச்சல் குளத்தை தவிர்த்தான்

கடலில் உல்லாசப் படகில் செல்வதை நிறுத்தினான்

குடிக்கும் தண்ணீரைக் கூட அளந்து குடித்தான்

இன்று இந்த கண்ணீர்க் கனவு** கனவும் தண்ணீர் தானே .. ...

ராஜமார்த்தாண்ட

ராஜ குல திலக.

ராஜ பஞ்ச அரசன்

மரணத்தை கண் முன்னே கண்டு நடுங்கினான்.

பின்பொரு நாள் குழந்தைக்கு

பால்மா வாங்க வழியின்றி

தற்கொலை செய்தவனின்

மனைவி அழுத கண்ணீர்

யுத்தத்தில் காணாமல் போனவர்களின்

உறவுகள் புலம்பி அழுத கண்ணீர் ....

வீதியில் இனந்தெரியவரால் சுட ப்பட்டவனின்

தங்கை அழுத கண்ணீர்...

எல்லாம் கடலாகி வந்து தன் அறை சூழ்வதாக கற்பனை பண்ணினான்

கண்ணீர் வெறும் உப்பு தண்ணீர்..... இது என்ன செய்யும் ...

மொழி ஆராய்ச்சியாளனை அவசரமாக அழைத்தான்

கண்ணீருக்கு விளக்கம் கே ட்டான்

அவன் சொல்லத் தொடங்கினான்

கண்ணீர் கருணை

கண்ணீர் இரக்கம்

கண்ணீர் தீரா அன்பின் நீரூற்று

காதலின் கண்ணீர் உப்பின் அமிர்தம்

ஆனால்

சிலவேளை கண்ணீர் சாபம்

கண்ணீர் கொடும் விதி

கண்ணீர் நெருப்பு

பல ஜென்மங்களில் தீராத பாவம்

கண்ணீர் குலமளிக்கும்

ஒரு அபலையின் கண்ணீர்

செல்வம் அரசு நிம்மதி புகழ் -

ம் எல்லாவற்றையும் ஒன்றுமில்லை என அடித்துச் செல்லும் ....

என் புத்த பிரானே கத்திக்

கொண்டே எழுந்தவனுக்கு

" அல்லற்பட்டு ஆற்றாது அழுத கண்ணீர் செல்வத்தை தேய்க்கும் படை "

என்ற தமிழ் குறளை

சிங்களத்தில் மொழிபெயர்த்து சொன்னான்

ஒன்பதாம் தேதி விடி வதற்கு இன்னும் இரண்டு மணித்தியாலங்கள் இருந்தது.......
